I missed this on Sunday but was told today it was marvellous, and really poignant. Films from the Calling Blighty project which were thought to be lost. They are messages home from soldiers on base in the Far East who could, of course, end up on the Burma railway, be killed or get home safely. It is being repeated on C4seven on Thursday at 8.00.

Oh my goodness. I have just watched the recording and have been in floods for the past hour. This is so poignant it is heart breaking. It is still on 4 online for a bit longer. When one woman sees the film of a,father she never met (and whose mother remarried and eradicated all sign of him from their lives) I was amazed she could be so strong. I was crying my eyes out. He ends his film with "I'm in the pink!" and was dead two months later. At the end of the programme she goes to visit his grave in Burma with her daughter.
