I stumbled on this while avoiding Rillington. My expectations were not high. But I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were a few syrupy moments. But the characters were diverse and the ending managed to hook me in to see where it goes next week.

Poo! Forgot this was on, I'll see if it's repeated on C4s 24/7 channel.

I don't want to say a lot until others have caught up with it. The best bits would definitely be spoilers!

Have now watched my recording. I did like the obstetrician....wish he had delivered my babies.... and that was quite a neat ending!

I thought the ending was well done. It looks like they carry it on next week.

Wasn't going to bother with this but having read positive reports of it have put it on catch up.

Well it was a bit syrupy for me, but I will stick with it. It is an interesting premise.

I watched episode two which seemed less syrupy to me, and more similar to thirtysomething. Which I guess was not surprising as it was directed by Ken Olin, late of that parish. I am finding Kate rather rude at her weight therapy meetings though! I bet she would be jolly angry if,people sniggered through her testimony (or whatever you call it). I do rather like her boyfriend. But some of the dialogue....do people ever talk like that IRL I wonder!

I think Something Bad will befall Jack. Was "Grandpa" at the end Jack's best friend from earlier?

He was indeed. I wonder if booze is going to be Jack's downfall. It is a favourite theme on US shows of this nature....

In case anyone missed it, series 2 is now on More4 on Wednesdays at 9.00. This week was episode 3 but I imagine the earlier ones are still on All4. They are still an awful bunch of people though!

Is anyone still watching this? They are such a ghastly bunch of self-absorbed people. Yet another favourite theme has now popped up, addiction to painkillers. I deleted the series link this week but then reinstated it, lol. But I am very surprised to learn this is a very highly rated show in the US. I think it hopes to be another Thirty Something (Ken Olin is involved) but it falls very short of the mark.

I decided I had no great interest in continuing into season 2 as I didn’t want the angst. I do have US friends who binge on it, so it’s obviously popular. I never got Thirty Something.
Looking back over my comments from upthread, did the Bad Thing happen to Jack?
