Cricket is set to give umpires the power to send players off for the first time next year, while the size of bats is to be limited.
Players will be dismissed for:
Mike Brearley has said that this would mostly need to be applied at lower levels of the game where such problems are not uncommon, but that the rules would be applied at all levels.

- physically assaulting another player, umpire, official or spectator
- any other act of violence on the field of play
