Didn't Humphrey leave to follow a lady? No reason not to do the same again I suppose but the departures have generally followed a different pattern.
I was watching a delightfully daft film with David Tennant and Kelly MacDonald, The Decoy Bride, which finished halfway through this episode so only saw the last part, but even so managed to catch up with the story effortlessly! Robert Webb does have the most gorgeous speaking voice.

I love theDecoy Bride! But back to DiP I also wonder if this is he beginning of Neville’s departure. Also I think this is not the last we have heard of Robert Webb’s character

I think I’ve read somewhere that there’s going to be a spin-off, catching up with Humphrey and wife, living somewhere in the West Country and solving crimes??

From what I’ve read about DIP, the schedule is very gruelling with filming taking 6 months each year on location (poor souls) 😉 and it is eventually due to family life that actors give it up. Ralph Little, on the other hand, has no such commitments and is, I understand, more than happy to carry on for the foreseeable future. I therefore predict that Sophie may decide to up sticks and move out to Saint Marie. I do hope so, as I have grown to be rather fond of Neville.
And I have also read about Beyond Paradise from the same writers. I hope it lives up to my expectations. Can’t wait as I was actually quite fond of Humphrey too.

Ralph Little has a long time girlfriend in Florida and he said they can regularly meet up from Guadeloupe. There is lots of free time on the island and sometimes days when new people are arriving and locations are being set up etc.
Perhaps that suits him more than others.
