The murder storyline was a bit weak, I thought.

They've used the adopted child or similar several times now and often use a band/singer/ DJ type scenario. Perhaps it's easier to film.
The orphanages must be bulging.

I think, this episode, the murder was secondary to the plot of Neville processing. The bigger mystery in that episode was the decision making process that led wardrobe to think this hat was a good choice...  |

DI Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris Marshall) returned to viewers' screens in the BBC series Beyond Paradise and left them delighted as he tackled the most curious of cases. However, fans are set for another surprise from the character as he will make a return to Guadeloupe in the upcoming series finale as part of a Death in Paradise crossover.

Is it really a spin off though? It doesn’t seem to have any of the same characters and is not in the same place, it just happens to have the word “paradise” in the title. Is it made by the same company? I suppose it doesn’t really matter, I’ll still watch it!
