I used to record every episode of this. At the time, it was one of my all-time favourites. I lent all the dvds to a friend a couple of years ago; he promptly lost them.
He phoned me this morning; he found them in his basement, so now I am dropping everything else going on a Cold Case spree.
I can't afford to go on a binge but, I am sorely tempted. I'm on Season 1 Episode 2, at the moment ... how many days would it take?

I enjoy this series too. It's on every lunchtime on Spanish TV. Lily Rush is a favourite 'tec of mine, and it's often a bit two-hanky at the end when the victim appears and then fades away.

I adored this show but catching it on Freeview was a bit chaotic. However, Pick showed all of it recently so the recorder was whirring away every day for weeks. Terrific.

One of the things that I really liked Cold Case for was its use of music, especially at the end:
Nina Simone ~ Strange Fruit (S02 Ep19)
This episode was loosely based on the case of Emmett Till who was brutally murdered at teh age of 14 in Mississippi. After having been acquitted of his murder, the people who did it sold their confession to Look Magazine for $4000 because they couldn't be tried again.

Billie Holiday's version of this song still makes me cry whenever I hear it.

I read somewhere that it is because there is so much music in Cold Case, it will never make it to DVD as the royalties would be astronomical. Don't know if that is apocryphal or not.

Ooh! I just found a Cold Case thread. I'm watching it now, my memory jogged by thoughts of theme music.
It is really good. I would always watch it on TV, and record it just in case I wanted to watch it again. I'm glad I did. At the moment I am shifting it from old dvds that I used to record it on, to a hard drive that should be able to take everything, then I can watch it anywhere in the house whenever I want. I have just got through watching the first two episodes. To my mind, it is one of the best, with a good cast, and good stories.
