My epgs aren't either. C5 need to pull their finger out. Meanwhile I've set up a manual recording to cover it.

Have you had another look since? Mine is showing both, or rather one long episode, for Friday.

I have watched the first episode and it looks to be very good again - but I got a bit confused between two different time frames. I may have to re-watch to sort out what's flashback and what isn't.

Yes my EPG is OK now too. I also enjoyed the first episode. Jim has quite an edge to him really, doesnt he? Very well played by AD (love him!).

OK, sorted. Stuff to do with Fiona driving the car, including the opening and closing scenes, is present time, the rest is flashback and unfolding in the correct order - right?

I think that's right. I didn't like the drug sub-plot and aggressive teens, bit it looks as if Paul and possibly the dad too are up to their necks on something.
Loved the horse nuzzling Paul!
Gillian was Dan's sister in The Nest and is Scottish.

Gosh I didnt recognise her at all. I reckon Tom shut down Jim because he himself is dodgy and doesnt want the polis nosing about.

I didn't recognise her and looked her up. She looks quite a bit different from her 'Nest' character I thought. She was also in Shetland, though I can't remember who she played or in which one.

She was the mother of one of the main characters in the most recent series of Shetland, but I only know that because I checked on IMDB! I have them all recorded and will check when I have a moment, Meanwhile, off to see the second episode of Blood!

Why are Jim and Paul digging what looks like a mass grave? 😳

It's a slurry pit (referred to in episode 1).

I do wonder if it might see service as a grave, however, the way things are going!
I wonder if Cat is going to turn up for the twins' communion? I imagine she will raise merry hell if she does, and the communion party will probably be lively with or without her, just as the wake was in the first series. I'm disappointed in Michael's attitude to his father. Such attitudes do still persist, particularly in small rural communities, but as a gay man Michael has faced prejudice himself and I thought he would be less narrow-minded.
I was mistaken, BTW, about the series of Shetland – it was series 4 that Fiona Bell appeared in. That's the one that featured Stephen Walters as Thomas Malone, a troubled man whose murder conviction was quashed after many years, which led to the case being reopened. Fiona Bell was the mother of one of the potential suspects. Shetland isn't one of the box sets available on the iplayer, so I'll have to watch my recordings to remind myself what happened.

It's a slurry pit (referred to in episode 1). Thank you. But isn't that a rather public spot to have a slurry pit? I would have thought you would hide them round the back, away from view (and smell). Although I suppose you need easy access, but this does seem to be near where others pass by. Because they stop and talk to Jim and Paul.

Yes, it's in quite a pleasant spot with grass and some trees, and on quite a small scale. I think of slurry pits as being sited on waste ground and featuring masses of concrete.
That's definitely down to Britbox - all series of Shetland are available on that platform. So no doubt the next two series when we get them will go the same way, available on iPlayer for 1 month, then gone.
