Just to let you see that the language problem is not so easy to resolve, and that it was a fairly common problem: Oops. Sorry, you don't see that before you post, and I didn't check.

I have a box at the top of the page, which seems to have an address in it - right now its got freeforums.net etc. - but its blue, and it's above the tags (tags? File, Edit, View, Tools, Help). Is this the address bar?

Is there a way to unsubscribe to a thread?

Ermmm.... I didn't know you could subscribe. Do you mean the Participated box? If so then no. Threads will just gradually drop out of it as they get unused.
If you mean getting email notifications, then yes. You can change those in your Profile.
Let me know if the above wasn't helpful

Perhaps I put it the wrong way.
Remember on the old POV boards, where you could click a button to stop a thread appearing in your 'My Discussions' list?
Just wondered if there was such a thing on this board, to get it off the 'Participated' list.

No, there isn't. Unfortunately. I did investigate it at the start but I couldn't see a way. I can remove the button completely but that's it.

You can mark them as Read though, if you don't want to read them. Just put a tick next to them then go into Actions at the top. There should be an option called Mark as Read.
ETA: Just tested it and it gives you options for how long it should be Marked as Read. But I don't know what they do. Possibly the Forever option stops any posts being shown as New.

Tick the box next to the thread title.
Go to Actions.
Go to Mark As Read.
On the drop down menu, click on Forever.
