Thank you for Our Mutual Friend alert - would have missed it. Tenko was on a 1p.m. today too. Long wet winter weekend afternoons sorted for a bit.

Thanks from me too, I love the Dickens programmes. I remember it and will watch again with pleasure. I watched Tenko also having seen it when first shown. Another very good series.

Glad you enjoyed it. As I said, why the Beeb do not re-show these excellent dramas is beyond me.

I have the sky box set to record New Tricks ,and have just been watching an early episode where the three old codgers have a young black policeman to help ,as well as Sandra, I personally think the BBC dropped a good show where the originals had moved on and the new team had just gelled when BBC pulled the plug, does any one else think this way on here?

I agree oldgit,although I wasn't convinced about Tamsin Outhwaite.

THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES
A new two hour crime drama series on Drama from Friday 24 February from 8.00.
It is from NZ and RT reckons it is closer to Midsomer than The Killing! Brokenwood is a sleepy town which becomes a hotbed for murder. The DSS is unconventional with a torrid love life whilst his female DC disapproves of his methods.

I hope it's not all dark and grey like that drama from Australia.

I hope so. I enjoyed the Aussie one but kept thinking 'why is it so damn grey?'

Me too, but they only seem to have the rights to the first three series, up to the departure of Tom, Zoe and Danny – the original spooks. These three series seem to be on a loop as they've been shown several times.
Interesting to see how young they all look, and also to see Nicola Walker in what I think was probably her first big TV role. She doesn't seem to have aged much though, just her hair is lighter now.

I watched this last night and thought it was OK. Not terrific but watchable, good for a leisurely evening with a glass of wine.
