During the past year, there was a TV channel called "Craft Channel" that did a lot of sewing as well as some knitting and crochet. Problem was that it when it came back for another series it was just a repeat of the previous one. Then they did it again and it was yet another repeat.
I suppose it's quite expensive to produce a series, but the Americans seem to do a lot and they cover some advanced techniques as well as the basics, which is all the Craft Channel did.

There's a lot of craft shows and tutorials on Youtube that are very useful. But a TV channel would be good. Was Craft Channel a Sky show?

Craft Channel was set up by Dawn Bibby - well known in the crafting world. The others are: Hochanda Create and Craft Jewellery Maker
I can only watch the last two on TV.
They all have some annoying presenters who don't give the people demonstrating much chance to do so. They also treat the viewers like half wits.

Sorry, I got the name wrong - it wasn't Craft Channel, but Craft Daily: craftdaily.co.uk/Doesn't appear to be on at the moment because my Freesat guide hasn't got a channel 402 It isn't a shopping channel and it's purely demonstrations.

Thanks for the link, Janet. I hadn't heard of that channel. Being on Virgin I can't access it on TV.

I think Dawn Bibby has chosen presenters like the lovely Dave Bradford (formerly Create and Craft) who are interested in the products and the people demonstrating them.
My least favourite is Dean "I love myself" Wilson on Create and Craft. Childish and irritating.

My least favourite presenter on Create and Craft is Stephanie Weightman. Fortunately she wasn't on often.when I watched regularly. I turned off if she appeared on screen.
Once she I saw her talk solidly for half an hour without doing anything and barely taking a breath.

She's one of my bugbears too. Dreadful woman. She's made a lot of money out of crafting though.

Just discovered 'Craft Daily' is on Freesat channel 161 now - Friday, 8 pm to 9 pm. It's supposed to be on Freeview 254, but I get the message "not compatible with your device, and Sky 261. Not listed on the Craft Daily web site (which doesn't seem t be up-to-date) as being on today
There have obviously been previous programmes that I missed because they are finishing/carrying on with projects.
So far they've put bias binding around the handles of a bag made from a pillowcase and are currently finishing a crochet monster hat.

I shall be spending the day unpicking T-shirts. I want to make some cotton tops and have worked out that the easiest way to get the material is to buy online massive men's t-shirts and cut them to the right size. I can use the rest for trimming and binding and I also have ready made stretchy necks, should I wish to use them! Genius eh? Hmm... I'll let you know if it was a genius idea after I've made the first one....

Sound like a good idea. I bought some good quality T-shirt material a couple of years ago, but of course I haven't done anything with it yet, but you've just given me an idea.. I'm having radio therapy around where the bottom of my bra would be and my skin is a little bit sore. So I've discarded my bra and am wearing a T-shirt under another top so I have something between my skin and it. The T-shirts are a bit loose, but I could make up a few crop tops a bit tighter than I'd normally wear a T-shirt until I feel I can wear a bra again. I've also decided to give my embroidery machine to my sister-in-law as have to get it out of its box and lug it to the dining table so haven't used it much. I've bought some large prepared lace flower trims to put on plain T-shirts to liven them up. This kind of thing: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lace-Rose-Flower-Applique-Badge-Embroidered-Neckline-Collar-Sew-Patch-Bust-Dress-/1123

I quite often wear a tight t-shirt instead of a bra on the days when my breasts decide when they want to be bigger than they were the day before. Bras can be really uncomfortable then. I had hoped this would have stopped by now but my boobs don't seem to be paying any attention to the menopause..... sigh. Sounds like it will be much more comfortable, Janet.

I'd just love to find a nice tight but soft t shirt material crop vest style bra that would accommodate some padding being lop sided after a mastectomy ... I have bought SO many but have yet to find something comfortable that's not hideously "huge" with very wide straps, and is also feminine. They all seem to ride up the padded side or the weighted plastic boobies get hot and sticky. About time there was a GOOD non frumpy range available that was affordable too. (And not amoena)
