We did! Jamie was on fire in the first set. Still a big ask tomorrow, mind.

Andy Murray back to his best. Poor Dan Evans, he tried so hard. I wonder why Del Porto didn't play.

Probably that five setter against Murray took it out of him.
Argentina will play Croatia (who beat France) in the final.
Spain are back in the world group after beating India. As are Russia

Andy Murray back to his best. Poor Dan Evans, he tried so hard. I wonder why Del Porto didn't play. The speculation is that he insisted on playing the doubles as he felt they had a chance to wrap up the tie then and that his body could not do another singles match. (I guess in doubles you only have to serve half as much, and potentially have less of the court to defend.) It was a gamble ... but I'm glad it paid off for him, as the Argentinian media would have been less than charitable if they had lost the tie. I do think the Davis Cup should only be every other yr, missing out Olympic ones. It is just too much to expect of the top players. We were quite lucky to get to the semis. If Djokovic had played in the Quarters in Serbia in July, we probably would have gone out then. Still, what a great run it has been ... and how fab to have held the trophy aloft last November.

I does seem to come round very quickly. It seems very recent that we actually won the thing.

Yes, it does come around very quickly. I'm not sure how Andy Murray is still able to stand at the moment....he's been brilliant this year.

Hasn't he just. Along with other GB players both on two feet and wheels! They've all done us proud.

......any Emmerdale fans notice that the Argentinian player Peloa struck a striking resemblance to Caine Dingle.....?

Saw a great Tennis match on a new (free to Sky) programme called Sky Sports Mix Andy Murray holding a special charity event in Glasgow where he played Grigor Dimitrov, before teaming up with his brother Jamie in a doubles match. Tim Henman played also and Gordon Reid...it was a fun event (Dimitrov wore a Kilt) A few other known faces joined in and they repeat it. Well worth a watch

Well done Andy Murray another trophy under his belt (China Open). Johanna Konta was so unlucky to lose the Women's title.

Johanna Konta was so unlucky to lose the Women's title. Lost 6-4,6-2.. That is not unlucky, that is beaten on the day by a better player.

Konta is in the top 10 now. She's had an excellent yr.
