It wasn't the most exciting doubles match I've ever seen, but the two sides were very well matched.
Pospisil's tiredness may be an issue today, though I think he is more than capable of beating Evans. Could go to the wire ... and whilst you would back Edmund on paper, nerves might be an issue.

Pospisil was the better player in that first set. He did well not to go 1-4 down. A good match so far.

Think it's going to go the fifth rubber unless Dan can produce a miracle ... and at the moment that seems unlikely.
Will Kyle be able to contain his nerves? If not, GB will be out this year.

Pospisil suddenly looked awfully tired at 3-2 up in that 3rd set, and a few errors crept in. Evans seems a bad-tempered tyke though. Surprised he hasn't been done for foul language, unless my lip-reading skills are deceiving me. Maybe the noise in the stadium is his friend in that regard.

Evans has always been a bit edgy. No excuse for bad language. Although many players are guilty of it.

Oh well, into a fifth rubber we go ...
Don't think I'll stay up for all of it. Have an early start tomorrow.

Yes, not sure I can last another whole rubber. I'll watch the first set and see how the land lies.
TBF, I felt Pospisil played the better game and was certainly stronger at holding serve from 0-30 down. It would have been quite a Houdini act for Evans to come from 2 sets and a break down, although it has been done.

Not Dan's day today. Pospisil played out of his skin.
Spain are through. Argentina v Italy has been plagued by rain delays today. Think they're playing again now.

What a bizzare end to GB v Canada. Kyle was in the driving seat but a silly action by his opponent gifted GB the tie.
Argentina and Italy have to play their fifth rubber today because of all the rain.

Well, I must say, I never saw something like that coming. He seemed such a cheery lad on Friday. I guess he is very young to cope with such pressure, especially in front of a home crowd like that. It will give his captain even more grey hairs than he already has. (My Canadian friend informs me he is only 52. The job must have aged him!) I suppose, on the plus side, he was almost certain to lose. Imagine if that had happened when he was in a winning position. So, France is our next opponent. Can't see us squeezing past them unless we have Andy playing. They have both strength and depth in their team and lots of possible players to select from. It will, however, fall at a busy time of yr (post Wimbles and the French exertions), so I would understand if he could not commit.

It is a reminder to all tennis players that, if you do lose your rag on court, it is better not to take it out on the ball. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/38876724People should be encouraged to look at what happened to Tim Henman, who hit a ball girl, and David Nalbandian who kicked out in anger and injured a line judge to know that you have to keep your cool. This can now be added to the list. If you really lose your temper, you lose any real awareness of the space around you, lash out, and end up back in the dressing room.

I just watched it on the website. Ouch! I bet that umpire has a stonking black eye this morning. To give the player his due, he did look horrified when he did it. But he'll have to learn not to smash balls in that direction.
