The Good Fight picks up one year after the events of the The Good Wife. An enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor Diane Lockhart’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.
The drama series stars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Erica Tazel, Sarah Steele, Justin Bartha, Paul Guilfoyle and Bernadette Peters.

Oh I am glad this is coming to Freeview! I much preferred Diane to the curiously immobile Alicia. She was so emotionless and passive I don't know why all those chaps were forever falling for her!

I agree and will certainly give this a go. Cush Jumbo is gorgeous and her American accent is perfect, to my ear, though I'm sure an American would be able to tell. Diane is a great character, as is her wardrobe and penchant for enormous costume jewellery! I wonder if we'll see her Republican husband?

I wonder if we'll see her Republican husband? Kurt? Yes. In the first episode. David Lee too, and usual good value. I'm three episodes in and it really is excellent. Familiar, yet fresh, and it has found the humour TGW lost in its last couple of series. |

A word of light-warning on this...
Unlike The Good Wife, The Good Fight has opening titles. they are lengthy (and quite dramatic) and they are kind of spoilery in as much as they list the entire cast, including guest stars, so if you have favourites from TGW that you'd like to see you kind of know they are going to be in it before the show even starts.

If Diane has lost all of her savings it will be interesting to see how the designers will dress her for this series. Either she'll wear the same clothes over and over again or dress in some things more suited to her financial state. No more designer clothes.
