Ok, I'm going to sound like a proper opera snob now but that version of Nessun Dorma was just wrong. It was written for a tenor singer, not a soprano. It's pitched for a tenor. And yes, it was different and eyecatching but.... it didn't work. Tenors don't sing soprano parts and sopranos don't sing tenor parts for a reason.

And it was just one girl who could sing backed up by some others, hardly what I'd call a choir ?

The dance acts just bore me to tears. That solo guy was ok and I agree that if he was given the chance of proper training and guidance he could be really good but in general I start to flick through the papers when they come on. I did think David was going to use his golden buzzer so he could override the other judges decisions. I think Walliams has said that the very good acts bore him, it's the unusual and wacky acts that he finds interesting. I agree I do like some of the wacky acts but it needs to be a mix, I'm not sure I'd want someone whos rubbish getting through over someone who's good just because they're wacky but as long as they're interesting. ...having said all that I'm so glad he gave that teenager who sang Hallelujah his golden buzzer, I liked his voice and I've heard that song a few times and version had real emotion in it.

The Irish girl singer, got the big build up,she was good anyway but was bound to go through.
The Maltese girl, again was good as was the brilliant golden buzzer act.
The Japanese magician ,just came over as a professional, and seemed a long way to come, must be a career decision.
But overall, another great show, last audition one next Saturday, live shows follow ,so in 2 weeks we will have a winner.
Still think this the best series to date,

Loved the Pensionaires...even though they couldn't sing.

Yeah, the pensioners were good, not the best singers but it put smiles on everyone's faces.
I thought the Japanese magician was really good but I just felt that he's been asked to go there. I don't believe that with an act like that that he's only working in Japan, he could travel worldwide with that. So as good as he is I feel a bit duped with him.

I was quite shocked at some of the acts we were shown getting through to the semi's - ghastly teenager singing mawkishly awful song about his nan:at least two of the more tedious choirs (Nessun bloody Dorma has been done to death on BGT, IMO, and the Missing Persons Choir is just another sympathy vote bore): clunky robot-man who warbled his tuneless way through Aha's 'Take on Me': oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! But there's some better offerings as well, so I suppose I will be surrendering my week's viewing to this crazy old show...
Looking forward to some more of all your input as we go through it together

Fraid I don't watch the rest. Do every year.
ETA: The above makes no sense at all.....
I never watch past the auditions.
That's better.

Yeah, I was surprised by some of the acts but they always put a few dodgy acts through to make the other acts even better. They usually have 3 acts that are odds on to win the episode 3 acts who are reasonably good and 2 who are bad.
I can't believe they put the DJ woman through. The robot isn't that funny either. But I'll still be watching!

It seems to me some acts they let through because they know they will be at the bottom when we vote.
I watched the Stephen Mulhern show after (I like a good chuckle) and he said there will be no judges vote. This means that the two acts who go through each night will be those with the most public votes. So it should be.

I'm glad about that, Sootycat. It should be down to the people who are paying to vote. I think they try and put through a variety of people so you have a mix on each show but it does mean you'll end up with some dodgy acts, but better that than 8 singers like a X-Factor MKII!😉
