Ah right. So the deaf girl is the one who said that Sally was talking to a Norweigan guy?

Yes and I think she was jealous of her closeness to Alan because she likes him. I have my suspicions about her, but then I suspect everybody until the final scene.

Well, Jo seems now to be ruled out as a suspect in Sally's murder. Who do we think attacked her? Malone is everyone's suspect for everything at the moment but I can't think why he would attack Jo. It was Jo who identified the person Sally was talking to immediately before she disappeared as speaking Norwegian, which seems to be the reason someone has been creeping around. Mati is now dead, so could it be Andreas Hagen, Mati's father, who has left the spotlight for the moment and who we've been led to think might be Alan's biological father? Was he in the beach film? I don't think he was mentioned when they were looking at the film.
We don't yet know why Sally was killed. The police think it was because she was investigating the poor working practices of Først Energy or because she was investigating the Norwegian far right (or both), but could it have been because Sally somehow found out who Alan's real father is, which might suggest someone more local? Seems a bit extreme to kill her though!
A few more twists and turns to come, no doubt.

Was it Jo's ex husband lurking near the croft? I found myself deeply suspicious of the extremely helpful Lars last night but I think that was probably a mistake!

I was too! Have we just watched too many dramas with criminal police characters?...or.... When he appeared, was there some mention that they hadn't been told he was coming?

Who is Jo's ex-husband? I thought she'd come to Shetland to escape from her abusive marriage but I've obviously got that wrong!
They weren't expecting Lars, who said he came because someone was needed to take Tosh and Jimmy's statements. He's clearly taken a shine to Tosh. I agree he looks creepy, though I wondered if that was because Tosh is reacting badly to any male interest at the moment, so we're suspicious on her behalf. But then there was that odd bit of dialogue about Lars advising Tosh to avoid roadworks – how does he know the roads so well on his first visit, and why include it if it isn't significant? Red herring?

Well I assumed he was her ex husband as the Police had a photo of him after some domestic violence charge although he maintained he had acted in self defence IIRC. And then when they tried to contact him his sister said he had gone away for a few days I believe.
Yes! I thought that about the roadworks! But it could have been from a chat with the taxi driver too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one questioning Lars.

I haven’t watched this episode yet, when I have I’ll explain exactly what’s happening and who the murderer is 😄 it’s a running joke in our house when watching these things that one of us will say, I know what’s going on but I don’t want to tell you because that would spoil it for you ! Actually we have no idea half the time what’s going on.

I am also suspicious of Kate who was jealous of her sister. And what woman in her right mind would sleep with Malone? Even if drunk.

I thought that was odd too. He said he was held up for ages in the taxi from the airport, as an explanation for knowing about them - though you might expect a local taxi driver to be aware of roadworks and avoid them. His excuse for coming over seemed valid, as Rhona had earlier said Norway police needed statements from Jimmy & Tosh - as did the reason he gave Tosh for volunteering, which was to see her not Shetland.

I'm another one suspicious of Lars. How do we know what he said in Norwegian to the far-right guy? And I was pleasantly surprised that the roadworks detour didn't result in Tosh being kidnapped. I assumed that the intruder at Jo's who we got a brief, unhelpful, glimpse of, was her ex....but that is probably what we are meant to think! Curiouser and curiouser......

All he said was 'Will you give me the address?' and then 'That's all you have to do'. Then he repeated the address, Sorligata 63, after the NDA man simply gave it to him which was curious after blanking Jimmy. I didn't detect any meaningful glances between them but he did seem to be deferring to Lars as a local police officer while Jimmy was an annoying foreigner who had not identified himself nor flashed his badge.
I do wonder if something might have been lost in the editing process – they went immediately to Mati's address which Lars had said was not far, and when they got there the murderer was already fleeing the scene. So did Jimmy's visit bring about Mati's murder, or was it coincidentally happening at the same time and if so could it have been Lars who tipped them off and what we saw was the NDA man relieved that he wasn't being investigated, simply asked for information?

Yes, Lars seems so nice, too nice, somewhere there was a warning light flashing in the deep recesses of my mind, or maybe I’m just suspicious...

I also thought that Lars was dodgy, but I really hope it turns out to be a red herring - another betrayal of trust will just wreck Tosh.
