I couldn't get into it all. Not sure why. Some of the acting was a tad dodgy but that doesn't usually put me off a good story.

Yes, I definitely think there's a US military connection - the Americans are keen to thwart Emma's attempts to establish what really happened.
I enjoyed it again this week. The wheels seem to be coming off for Emma, but the ending points to a crucial witness coming out of the woodwork.
The episode used one device which is quite commonly seen, but which I find laughably unrealistic, as follows: Someone telephones a colleague to tell them to turn on the TV - without specifying which channel! The person happens to have the remote to hand and be in front of a TV, which warms up instantly on the correct station, where the item to which attention is being drawn is just starting so they don't miss any of it. All very miraculous!

I know! They always say that in US shows don't they.... turn on the TV..... and there is the exact same show the caller is watching. And as you say, nothing is missed.

It's similar to when two people meet and one says 'call me' but never gives out their number.....

Oh do Pearl as it was very good tonight..... the intrigue thickens. It certainly does! I still can't get a handle on what is at the root of it all. I've gone from being a bit luke-warm about it during episode one, feeling I could take it or leave it, to now waiting with baited breath for the next installment. Good stuff.

This was a good episode. I think it gets better as it progresses, and I'm looking forward to next week's. Has partner Steve walked out? - he wasn't in it at all this time.

I enjoyed this week more, but I have a feeling it is not going to end well for Emma.

Motive has become clear now, although I wonder if there is more to come out. Where does the newly elected party leader fit in, for instance? At first he just seemed to be helping Linda's family who are his constituents but I think he has an ulterior motive and is more deeply involved in past events.
It's gripping stuff!

I have a feeling that the fella is married to that Rachel they're hoping to find. What's his wife's name?
