I have just started watching this from the European Championships in Sweden (showjumping and dressage) and GB hasn't sent a team!!!!! This must be a first. They seem to be interested in other competitions and our big cheeses are on some big money circuit. Also it is only year one of the Olympic cycle. But some younger riders would probably have been thrilled to be picked for the team. We sent 2 individuals, Michael and William Whittaker but Michael withdrew his horse before it started. I wonder if we are in the dressage!

Yes we are. And in the cross country I think. Just not in the showjumping. I've been watching it on the RB all week.

We won gold in the team 3 day eventing and an individual medal (bronze I think) last weekend.

Oh that's good. All I spotted in RT was this highlights show(which seemed a bit thrown together) presented by a rather excitable woman who wasn't Claire. I prefer Claire doing the equestrian stuff.

Yeah, that highlights show was a bit rubbish. They missed out loads of stuff.

Burghley Horse Trials.
I have just started to watch my recording of the highlights, 2hr 10 mins. The dressage started at 4 mins in and it had finished at 6 mins!!! They showed 1 element by each of the top three, that was it. I quite like a bit of dressage but never mind.

I'm watching the Cross Country and the Brasilian path finder is one of the worst riders I've ever seen. He is bouncing around in the saddle and dragging the rein around. I can see this horse bucking him, TBH.

And by way of contrast, they immediately show the NZ rider who has a beautiful riding style. Very still and quiet in the saddle, letting the horse do his thing.

I am just watching the three hour highlights programme which is just showing cross country, not dressage sadly. But I don't have time to watch the very long programmes for each section. I shall probably catch the showjumping though. I have never seen so many pairings go wrong in swift succession! And they had to delay the jumping by a day because of the hurricane. All sounds a bit hairy doesn't it? This is a good accompaniment to doing a bit of mending though, lol!

We won! Both team and individual, so that was a good watch.

Just remembered Olympia is on!
Luckily they have it all in sections on iPlayer. So I'm about to watch the puissance from Wednesday.

That was fantastic! {SPOILER:Click to Show}The two horses that won it could not be more different to each other. Mr Blue Sky very calm and cool and just hopping over the first few until he had to put his boot down. And then Dazzler.... who is pretty much the craziest horse I've seen in a puissance. How he jumped 7 foot 4 I do not know.
