Oh no! I didn't realise it was on today! I have seen mention of it in next week's RT and there is a highlights show which I have put on to record. I may have to make do with that though as I have stuff to do so may not be able to dedicate the time..... Is this one of the events where we could qualify for the Olympics, if we haven't already?

It's team jumping today so I expect so. I'm watching the climbing at the moment so I'm saving the jumping for later.

Don't panic too much, Marion, it's only the qualifiers. So not the top teams. At the moment I'm watching Greece.

Ive just started my recording of the dressage freestyle finals and no Charlotte Dujardin! So I checked online and she was eliminated because after the team effort they examined her horse and found blood on its flank and that means you're out. So she was very upset, got a load of abuse on social media and felt like quitting according to the news site I read. And our ranking went down from silver medal to nowhere, which might be an Olympic qualifying issue I guess. Oh well, we have two in this final so I shall start watching soon.

That's not good! Did they say how the horse got injured? And what was she getting abuse for?

Not a lot of info and I am not on Twitter so can't see, but I think it was a slight trace of blood, not a gash or anything and possibly from a scratch from the spurs. I assume the social media attacks were about horse cruelty. I guess those people are against the use of spurs and some might disapprove of dressage.
Under the rules, when they do a post test examination of the horse, seeing one spot of blood anywhere on the horse means immediate elimination.
Just saw we finished fourth so dont know if that is enough to qualify for the Olympics, as it would be in the showjumping.

Oh dear, Carl Hester had a nightmare test. But then he only got three more points than the Finn, and the Finn's horse reared TWICE! At least our faults were niggling bits of execution. I dont really understand this scoring, lol, and I shant bother to investigate either.
Our second chap did OK, I think he just dropped one place. Personally I liked the Spaniard who started the competition.

German women won all the medals in the dressage! I preferred the one who came third though.

I tend not to watch the dressage. I prefer the other two disciplines. I'm watching the athletics until the last round of jumping is available.

European Eventing Championships now on iPlayer. Some of these fences are very tough. We've already had one injury.

One horse was just rearing and kicking in the start box! Can't see that round lasting too much longer......
He did finish but had a load of time penalties. And he's German and they are in first after the dressage. GB is in second so all good if we can get round on clears.
