Well what a shame the boss lady copped it. Scandi shows are relatively unusual in having top officers portrayed by women who actually look their age. In the US a similar female role would be played by someone botoxed within an inch of her life who looks about 40.
If I were Martin I would never use my balcony in case I got caught by my bonkers neighbour!

Yes, I was quite shocked when she was shot, though I thought, when she wasn't killed outright, that she would survive. A bit of a change from the usual Beck fare. I'm guessing Gunvald will have got over his burnt-out phase by next week. I must say I prefer him without the beard.

Very poor episode last night I thought. This is one of two in series 4 which apparently had a cinema release and were more ambitious in scope than the previous series for TV, but I found it all over the place in terms of plot, and confusing, despite a lot of it being in English. Next week's programme is not the second in that series but a brand new one from this year so I hope it's gone back to the TV formula. Will we ever see Gunvald's son again, I wonder, or will he be conveniently forgotten?

Well, it just goes to show..... I thought it was a good one last night. It was really zippy for Beck and I enjoyed it. Now OK I was on the merlot, but I think I would still have liked it even if only drinking tea! Why can't they show things in the right order?

No merlot for me – that was obviously my mistake! I couldn't see why Kim was essential to the terrorists' plan, nor why she was so keen for her son to be 'rescued' when he was with her – I assumed so that she would do as they said, since she apparently wanted out. Was she some kind of computer whizz? It wasn't clear to me what she was doing. And what was all that at the start, with the chase ending in the gruesome death of what turned out to be a colleague? The car chase was annoying too – I fast-forwarded through it and it still took several minutes!

I knew it was Gunvald's last episode but expected him to be in it for more than five minutes! Not sure he said anything at all other than 'Hallo' when he walked into the flat. Ah, well, all good things come to an end, though with the haphazard order in which these are being shown I imagine we will be seeing him again.

Well I was wondering exactly that myself. He will probably be alive and well next weekend.
I had to google this shock development to see if he jumped or was pushed. Just a hint of the latter in one article. He seems to be, or at least to have been a bit of a lad!!!

I think he's pursuing an international film career but the manner of his departure may well have been to ensure he doesn't come back!

It is the debut tonight of Gunvald's replacement. He looks like a hipster dude to me. Apparently he is supposed to be an excellent detective..... Well he had better be, is all I have to say to that.
