Very interesting article, thanks for the link.
I remember Nina. She was very beautiful I thought. She did have a fling with Oleg. Did he discover Stan was using her so Oleg made her a double agent? Confusing! And a long time ago as well. I cannot really work out who this woman with the bad teeth is! The one Stan and his colleague are trying to set up as an agent and who has brought in her boyfriend to the last meeting. Where does she work?
I hope Oleg doesn't come to a sticky end. As Philip's son managed to get out with no espionage experience whatsoever, perhaps Oleg can escape too. Perhaps they could do a Bridge of Spies with Oleg coming one way and Elizabeth, Philip and Paige going the other. Henry can stay with Stan! Philip has killed too many people to stay with no recriminations IMO. Sadly for him.

Yes, I think that's right about Stan, Nina and Oleg. I don't know about the woman with the teeth – is it Irina? I have noticed that Elisabeth wears brown contact lenses to do with her curly wig when she meets her. I do wonder what would happen if either she or Phillip came face to face with someone from one of their many other lives while in the supermarket, or sitting at traffic lights! I suppose the argument would be that they are masters of disguise and most people don't really pay attention to appearance in a fleeting moment.
I like Oleg too. He looks and behaves like a real person! Not that I'm an expert on spies but the other Russians are a bit po-faced, aren't they?

OK, now I'm even more confused. A few episodes ago we saw Philip and Elizabeth renewing their wedding vows with a Russian priest. Then we had a lot about them going home to the USSR with Paige and Henry. Now it seems Philip is no longer in the business and is focusing full time on the travel agency – hence the smart new haircut and jaunty walk. Meanwhile Elisabeth may or may not be being used by a Russian military man to scupper the summit talks and is busy murdering people – why did she kill the man on the street?
So I don't know what is going on. If Philip is no longer a spy then has he completely bought into American culture or is he just tired of killing people?
Still, nice to hear lovely Oleg speaking English again with his very attractive accent ... and the three words of Russian Elisabeth spoke sounded quite convincing.

I think Philip is just burned out. Martha, the silly weed smoking girl, and the Russian boy whose family they wrecked took it's toll on him. But like the Godfather, just when he thought he was out........
Elizabeth killed the man in the street cos he had flirtatiously taken Paige's ID, and she couldn't let that happen.
BTW, lovely Oleg can also be seen in the latest series of Homeland, playing, you'll never guess, a shady KGB/FSB type. This time with a beard.

Nooooooooooooooooo! The lovely Oleg has been arrested. Here's hoping for a Bridge of Spies scenario then. Only one episode to go now and I sincerely hope there is retribution for Philip and Elizabeth. And as for the ghastly Paige, I am hoping for life in prison without parole. But I reckon they may slither away 👎
Stan is so close to the truth but I have an awful feeling he may be too late....... Come on Stan! Get that colleague who laughed at your Jennings theory to take you seriously. I am so tempted to read an online spoiler right now!

It's pretty incredible that Stan didn't smell a rat before now, given that he has observed P & E coming and going at all hours for years and it's his business to be suspicious of people. I do agree about Oleg, he's far too nice to be sacrificed.
I learned recently that Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell are partners in real life too.

I've enjoyed it too but am very cross with ITV for mucking around with its scheduling and putting series 3–5 on a channel I don't have access to. Consequently I have found it quite tricky to work out what is going on some of the time in series 6.

Do you think something mad happened, like they bought it with restricted rights, to air only on a minor channel, cos it was cheap! This is such a well known and well regarded show, I cannot understand how on earth it wasn't shown primetime on ITV or Channel 4 (its more natural home IMHO).

So it's over, not with a bang but with a whimper. I shall miss Philip and Elizabeth and their amazing range of wigs, false moustaches and specs. I felt very sorry for Henry, whose world is going to be turned upside down and who will surely be kicked out of his posh school! And Paige, who has realised that 'home' for her is not the USSR. I wonder what she will do? Very sad that the only place she could go back to was the flat where she used to meet Claudia for briefing meetings. I suppose her situation is similar to Elizabeth's before she left Russia, except that Elizabeth still had her mother. As for P & E, how can they settle into a USSR which has changed hugely since they left and where they no longer have a role? Teaching future spies, perhaps?

I stopped watching it about half way through season 3, so I have decided to go back to the beginning again.

A very minor key ending, wasn't it? I suppose in a way it was quite in line with the rather melancholy feel of the show but I for one am jolly peed off that only the lovely Oleg is in jail! And without hope of a trade off. Boo! I watched this quite late last night and it overran as it was longer than I thought. So that very long sequence against Brothers In Arms, which really suited the nature of the events, has given me the most annoying ear worm today!! It just won't stop. I cannot believe that the Jennings can get round Pastor Tim AND dedicated FBI agent Stan. The scene with Stan was well played but if only they had mobile phones! Then he could have called for back up and arrested all of them. I had no sympathy whatsoever for Paige and actually wanted life imprisonment for her! I wasn't sure if Claudia had already got back to Russia or if Paige would be contacted in that flat. I assume the former.
My one query about the return to Russia is how Elizabeth would be received there. Claudia knows she disobeyed orders so could she be imprisoned or worse? I know her actions ended up pro Gorbachev but I assume there are ways for the other elements to do the dirty. I thought Philip played his part so well, showing all the ambiguity he felt for the US and Russia. No more line dancing for him!

Why are you so against Paige? She hero-worshipped her parents and wanted to be like them. A rather unusual upbringing, shall we say! I'm not sure how old Paige is now – 18, 19? – but it's a scary thought that in the USA, much younger children actually can receive life sentences.

Well I just found her really irritating! And I was amazed someone who had the all American life would just embrace the Russian spy lifestyle despite having no political reasoning to back that up. She just seemed to me to be playing a role for no particular reason. But I did miss series 3&4 so maybe they had some background which would flesh that out a bit. I have just seen that Prime have the first five series free so as my World Cup avoidance programme I am going to watch 1-2 again and then watch 3-4. Maybe I'll warm to her.
They went forward three years didn't they for series 6 so I assume she was in her third year at college by the end.
I watched Missions last night and they had a shot of Moscow University in daytime where P&E were looking out at night. What a building.
