Yes, it was really annoying to miss out on two series. I've only just found out that the World Cup is taking place soon, in Russia of all places. I wonder if any countries will boycott it? Or perhaps they already have and I've just tuned out every time it's been talked about.

Well I just found her really irritating! And I was amazed someone who had the all American life would just embrace the Russian spy lifestyle despite having no political reasoning to back that up. She just seemed to me to be playing a role for no particular reason. But I did miss series 3&4 so maybe they had some background which would flesh that out a bit. I have just seen that Prime have the first five series free so as my World Cup avoidance programme I am going to watch 1-2 again and then watch 3-4. Maybe I'll warm to her. They went forward three years didn't they for series 6 so I assume she was in her third year at college by the end. I watched Missions last night and they had a shot of Moscow University in daytime where P&E were looking out at night. What a building. That is what I am doing. I am already up to season 2, so I'll probably be finished before the World Cup.

Actually, half way through season 2, I am beginning to remember why I stopped watching. It isn't the idea that is the problem. It is just that when you begin wishing that they had begun things, maybe a decade earlier, and you begin to get really irritated by the FBI characters, you begin to think that you got it right the first time, and shouldn't take it any further. But, that is just me.

Aren't these Amazon box sets addictive? At this rate I shall be finished all 5 series before the first week of the World Cup is over! I have also realised that I didn't have much in the way of video recording when it started so have missed a couple of episodes, or forgotten everything in them! But I didn't know Philip met his old.girlfriend and knew about that son of his. He was a complete surprise to me when he popped up in series 5. (An unusual poor piece of casting there I thought as the young police officer from Chicago PD looked far too young to have had his son 18-20 years ago.) I really like revisiting the Martha plot and it is great to see how they stayed consistent with character from the very beginning through the whole of the show. And although I had no time for older Paige, I have to say that the young actress (who IMDB says is now only 20) did a really good job along with Henry.
I want to watch as much as I can before revisiting the finale which is on ITVHub for another 3 weeks (series 6 is not free on Amazon). At this rate I shall never get rid of the Dire Straits ear worm.
Ps I couldn't decide whether to continue with box set of watch the DVD of The Post. I chose the film and the first actor I recognised in it, playing journalist Daniel Ellsberg, is Matthew Rhys!!!!!!!!!!!! An omen!!!!

I'm half way through series two already! Of course one drawback to this is that The Lovely Oleg wasn't all that lovely in the beginnning was he? That is a disappointment for me. And you forget (or I do) how Stan was quite unpleasant in the early days too, executing Vlad like that. One character I enjoy is Nina. She plays that role so well. Poor thing, caught up in all that (ultimately tragic) drama just because she stole a few tins of caviar! She should have stayed on the straight and narrow!!!!!!!!!

I'm halfway through series 3 now! Anyway, one thing I completely missed out on is the grooming of Paige. At the end of series 2/start of series 3 the Centre says it wants the children of the.illegals as the second generation can pass the newer background checks and get juicy posts in the DOD or State Department. Philip is horrified and says she is.only 14 so far too young but after initial doubts Elizabeth agreed to it and starts to bond with Paige, even going to church events. There hasn't been any mention of fabulous Russia is as yet, mind.
