I know! I remember how shocking it was originally. I think because deaths of major characters were so rare in soaps. There were four whole years between Stan and Brian. Now the soaps seem to have a death every other week.

Well personally I found Ivy more moving than Carmel, but perhaps that's because I feel I 'knew' Brian whereas Shaki barely registered with me.
And what a piece of work Gail is - you were divorcing him, at least let him be buried with his father!

I think Ivy puts Gail's back up just by breathing so going in there all guns blazing probably wasn't the best idea.
But I do agree that Gail should back down on this one.

Finally got back to this this evening. (Strange how the search function didn't work!) So I appear to have missed Brian's demise. Damn. I missed it first time round as I was pregnant with Tommy at the time and had a tour of the hospital prior to my admission (March 89 I believe). I do remember the scenes being played out on the various tellies on the wards we went through and cursing myself for not taping them. This episode is about a Ivy's anger toward Gail about not going for a Catholic funeral. So I've missed the above episode - again!  |

Yes. I haven't deleted any I haven't watched so no idea why Brian's killing scene wouldn't be there. I was watching episodes from 28 May last night.
