I'm a day behind as I record in the afternoon and watch that evening. So I haven't found out yet, but I'm glad to see the back of Wild Willy and his sneery smile. Morgenstern is lovely.

If I remember correctly Chloe disappears (again) and Big Susie is left holding the baby.
Never actually thought about the dress code, they all seem to spend all day in scrubs!
Love watching Carter slowly gaining confidence - obviously more apparent as we are viewing episodes day by day. Thought the scene with Doug and the guilty sobbing mum of the little boy with Aids was so moving.
Jen annoys me too. Hurry up and meet Alex Kingston Mark.
Had forgotten just how much Susan and Weaver disliked each other.

I know. I'd forgotten that too. I do remember how much Weaver and Romano hate each other. And the fantastic revenge she eventually gets on him.

So what did happen to Wild Willy? I watched the episode and saw Morgenstern very aggressively scrubbing in for surgery while explaining how glad he was to be back doing real medicine, but missed the bit about Willy.
I remember Weaver and Romano too. I disliked Romano (as did everyone else!) but he didn't deserve his fate. I remember reading that the actor plays the guitar and is apparently really gentle and sweet in real life!

I assumed that Wild Willy was only covering for Morgenstern while he set up the ER at the other place. I think this series is set about 3 months after the end of the first one. Judging from the size of little Suzi.

But it did lead to one of the best jokes ever, in ER.

Is that Lucy Liu playing the mother of the little boy with Aids?

Well... guess that's one way to deal with a wife beating cop.

Yes, she's called Lucy Alexis Liu in the cast list. I first became aware of her in Ally McBeal a few years later, but I don't know at what point she started playing leading roles. I thought she was good in Elementary, if you can get over the silliness of Watson being an American woman.

Tonight was the storm drain rescue. Utterly brilliant. Gripping. An absolute masterclass in crafting a story, building the momentum whilst filming in adverse conditions and weaving the storyline with moments of incredibly fast-paced action with scenes of quiet and tragedy. Hmm . . . they won't want to let Doug Ross go now will they? Now he's a hero . .
Casualty and the like have tried to copy the ER action but I can't remember another programme that does it so well.
I look forward to watching it all over again on Sunday.
