It's amazing how expressive Carter can be behind a surgical mask and glasses!

I know it seems silly to say anything about spoilers seeing as this is so old but ... there maybe someone watching it for the first time and it wouldn't be fair on them to say too much.

I haven’t posted any spoilers, mentioning actors/actresses who appear.

Couple of things . . not sure if I've ever noticed this so much before but all the rushing in and out of all the operating rooms without changing gloves, aprons etc must surely be a no no - even 30 odd years ago!
Also, Doug is portrayed to be so wantonly promiscuous I wonder why anyone would risk sleeping with him? Without naming names . . . (don't want to spoil it if anyone doesn't know what happens) With all the excellent stories they tell regarding AIDS I'm surprised it doesn't even get a mention, especially from Mark.
Benton/Eriq La Salle has the ability to be an arrogant confident, yet brilliant surgeon and then at times when things go wrong for him he looks like a achingly sad child. Great acting.
Still loving Carter . . .

They do usually take the gloves off. It gets so automatic that you barely notice, I think.

Their attitude towards PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a joke. But if they actually did follow procedures it would slow the action down considerably so a bit of licence is inevitable.
I think Jeanie is terrific too, as she moves from crushed by her diagnosis to defensiveness and anger. I don't remember who does what among the staff when they find out but I'm fairly sure Kerry Weaver will support her. She's another that we love to hate and then realise she's actually right a lot of the time. The great strength of the writing is the multifaceted aspects of all the main characters. Doug's constant giggling makes me want to slap him. I hope one of his conquests eventually does.

Mark (to Carol) on observing the supposedly mating ritual between Morgenstern and Susan : "You'd know if you were a nuthatch"
Brilliant.
Well, a lot happened in this episode . . pity I had to work through it! Will try to watch it again Sunday. Oh poor Mark . . he needs someone in his life.
