Nick Skelton is still in the showjumping, the first with a double clear. Lots of others were clear in the first round too though.
Tom Daley this evening, yay!

Gosh that was nail biting stuff. So thrilled for Nick Skelton and Big Star (who deserves a big bunch of carrots).
From the sublime to the possibly ridiculous. Modern pentathlon show jumping soon on Virgin red button. The competitors get pot luck hoses some of whom can be really naughty. It's usually a good watch (for all the wrong reasons!). The plucky competitors only have 20 minutes to acquaint themselves with their horse and jump a few fences (rather them than me). Oh dear some disasters already.
Apparently the horses have a "test run" over the fences (but not with the competitors on them). One horse is called Harry Potter!

Well it is 8.05, I am here with my wine and my fag..... so where is the diving coverage? They showed every dive of the women's! Just came on RB607...... for one flaming dive. Now it is basketball. Now it is wrestling. Two seconds per sport!

Europe's top Olympic official arrested for ticket scam. Looking at the spectators and the hundreds of empty seats at the various venues, I don't think he's done very well out of it! He likely has (allegedly). It was the ones that got burnt that probably informed on him because they had tickets for an unsellable product on their patch. And if the vacant seats are an issue, now, wait for the Paralympics. www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/19/rio-paralympics-downsized-disappointing-ticket-sales

The red button service on Virgin has been very unreliable. I thought I was recording rhythmic gymnastics earlier. When I checked, taikwando was on instead. I suppose it was pushed online. I have no desire to watch on my laptop.
The BBC thinks everyone has good internet access or whizzy TVs. They also ignore those who do not want the internet.

The rhythmic is on RB4 at the moment. Clubs and ribbons. And the crowd is really big.
Just had clubs to the London Symphony Orchestra's version of Paint It Black. Which amused the commentator no end!
