What are the odds of the 2nd game being dull? My brother says the French commentary team have to be heard to be believed - they make ours, at their most hyper, sound like they are reading the lesson in Church.  |

We have lost many established names from this years tournament - but there are so many youngsters up and coming, like the teenage sensation who scored 2 goals for France.
Good luck to them.
Nice to see so many women and children in the stands cheering on the teams. The English supporters tend to be 95% men attending the matches. Pity they do not bring their wives/girlfriends/daughters along.

One half of the draw: Uruguay (14) Portugal (4) France (7) Argentina (5) Brazil (2) Mexico (15) Belgium (3) Japan (61) The other half: Spain (10) Russia (70) Croatia (20) Denmark (12=) Sweden (24) Switzerland (6) Columbia (16) England (12=) Which half would you rather be in? The form teams (apart from Switzerland) are all in one half. Of course, what happened to Germany (1) and Poland (8) demonstrates that form coming into a tournament isn't a guarantee of anything, but it is indicative, when you look at the top half of the draw from now on. ...Spain out too...what an opportunity for an unfancied country to reach a final...! |
