Given the way this programme works, he could still be dead, we just see him again in yet another ****** flashback!

True! So, as far as we know, the body count so far is Shane, Kian, possibly Paul, possibly the horse, any combination of whom is in the back of Fiona's car. Frank, the paedophile uncle, wasn't looking too well when we saw him, and surely someone is going to end up in the slurry pit!

I think Kian will go in the slurry pit and I think the horse is OK. When that thingy went into Kian I did say "and now phone the police Jim" but of course he won't. Or they could feed Kian to the pigs because they eat the whole body don't they? Well on most dramas involving such a disposal method they do! (Have we seen any pigs though? I assume they have them because of the slurry pit but may be making an error there. I always associate pigs with slurry.)

Apart from one horse, a slurry pit, a barn and a couple of houses there doesn't seem to be anything else on this "farm" as far as I can see.
And what WAS that thing that Kian fell on?

Good thought! There was an episode of Taggart a long time ago in which the victim was fed to the pigs, and I'm pretty sure you're right, they do scoff the lot. Is this why we're not supposed to eat pork, I wonder ...

The use of pigs to get rid of a body without trace also featured in series 2 of the Icelandic 'Trapped' a year ago.
There are pigs on this farm - they've been referred to a couple of times but I don't think we've actually seen any.
I think it was just a bit of junk on the floor, perhaps a part from a car -

Looks like a tripod. That long spike is what hangs below the camera plate for stability.

Well, that was cheerful as ever! Good to see Cat again. Pity the body in the boot isn't Marjorie - what a nasty bundle of spite she is, though she has competition in Michael and Tom.

"Tom" has just popped up in 'Normal People' which I'm working through.

That's Denis Conway. His face is very familiar but looking at his IMDB profile he mostly does Irish dramas. The only one I recognised was Single Handed, the police procedural starring Owen McDonnell, in which he was a police inspector.

I too thought Tom looked very familiar. Perhaps he looks like another actor who IS very familiar! I could not believe it when he said Fiona and Gillian were shagging in the middle of the après-communion party! (I mean he said it then, not that they were shagging then, lol.)
Did anyone else think that the Shane Who Is Still Alive didn't look anything like the Shane Who Was Thought To Be Dead?

The whole thing was daft, from all the revelations and recriminations – though that's par for the course in a soap (see Archers thread!), I thought this was meant to be loftier stuff – to disposing of a body in the middle of it, to those horrible teddies that were meant to be 'something special'! Cat was remarkably restrained; I wonder if Carolina Main only had a short period of availability so they gave her hardly any dialogue, or if we'll see more of her tonight?
Owen, Fiona and Paul's son, was in the caravan earlier, wasn't he, when Kian was blackmailing Paul and told him Shane was dead? He drove Paul there. You'd think he might have said. Too scared I suppose. And who was it who kidnapped Paul in the car-breakdown-that-wasn't, along with Kian? Was that Owen, or Shane, or someone else? I must have a look at this again before tonight.

Well, at least we know who was destined for the slurry pit - perhaps not a surprise by then.
Who has the detective decided to question next? My guess is Gillian - as the police were escorting whoever-it-was into the station at the end, we caught a glimpse of (I think) dark green clothing and we had just seen Gillian wearing a dark green jacket while cleaning out her stables. I don't think that's going to be anywhere near the end of the matter though. C5 have lumped together for the finale two episodes which in other countries were shown on separate days, so I don't expect any big revelation before the second half.

I've just finished watching my recording of last night's offering and have to agree with everyone else's opinion. I am now strangely looking forward to tonight's double bill just to see how much dafter it can get!
