I'd forgotten about Jake. There really are too many convoluted relationships – in their desire to reflect modern society they have gone completely over the top, IMO. It doesn't help that all the Archers men sound the same ... I thought I was hallucinating last week because I was mixing up Roy and Will and wondering why Roy was so upset about receiving a Valentine's card!

Ruairi and Ben too! I have to wait for reference to the sheepdog before I can tell them apart, lol.

Gosh, who is worse, Helen or Kate, in their extraordinary selfishness? Poor Lee did nothing wrong and has been made to feel like some horrible predator, not because Helen was freaked out by a piece of music which is understandable, but because she has simply run away and won't give him the explanation he is entitled to. And Kate – well done Peggy! That silly girl needs a lesson in what homelessness really is. Get a life and get a proper job!

What amazes me is that Lee apparently has no idea about what happened to Helen and Stab Night. Has he not heard of google? I thought everyone looked up potential partners online these days. And even if he hasnt, no one has mentioned any of it to him, or he failed to read/hear the news at the time of her trial.
I can't decide who is worse! Kate, because not only does she sponge off people etc but she then forces her views on the people who help her out? So not only does she blag a free room from Lilian and Justin, but she then tries to turn the household Vegan. I quite like listening to her scenes but the constant Harry Enfield Kevin response is getting a bit tedious! Then again, Helen is just abysmal!! But the constant positive reinforcement she gets from her mother is also beyond the pale. I wonder what Natasha (also dreadful!) plans for Helen if she and Tom move into the main house.... Move out and stand on your own two feet???
I think another vital question is what has happened to Tom's backbone as he now seems unable to make any decision whether about business or marriage, without being told what to do by Natasha.
And don't get me started on Elizabeth!!

Natasha ... yes, I wonder if she will turn into the wife from hell? She did redeem herself in her conversation with Tony on the way to the wedding, which sounded sincere, though I realise it was just a way of avoiding having to introduce her parents into the cast. Tom's backbone was always soft, from his sausage empire with Hayley to jilting Kirsty at the altar. He doesn't have a very good track record, does he? Makes me wonder what Natasha sees in him. Archer money? But Pat and Tony are not wealthy by Ambridge standards.
I missed Kate being evicted by Lillian and Justin though I remember Lillian talking about it being a conversation she wasn't looking forward to. Did it happen off air?

How come Ruth and Dayveed are so strapped for cash? I thought she inherited half a million from her mother...

They invested in a new milking parlour that seems to have cost an arm and a leg. And the weather meant buying in a lot more feed for the animals than they were expecting. Other than that I don't know – Pip is financially independent, as far as anyone ever is in The Archers. The concept of being hard up is a little elastic in Ambridge, apart from the Grundys who really are up against it at all times!
Great cat fight between Alice and Kate! Peggy has an uphill struggle there, I think if she's really trying to reconcile them.

I don't like her, but if I were Alice I certainly wouldn't forgive Kate. Hold.onto that grudge, Alice!

Oh, she's a one, that Natasha! I knew no good would come of their hasty marriage. It's interesting though – Tom lives in fantasy Archerland where parents always cough up to rescue their children. Natasha's parents were mysteriously absent from the wedding and now we finds she has lots of debt, just like many people in the real world. We're clearly meant to disapprove but I can't help hoping Tom gets a dose of what life is like outside the Borsetshire bubble.

I saw a reference to her on Mustardland, where they give nicknames, as Nocasha which I thought was hilarious. It all seems odd to me. She is such a fabulous entrepreneur but is racking up all this personal debt allegedly because she ploughs all her profits back into the business. But I wonder if the profits are not quite what we are led to believe.... And didn't he leave for Canada owing money to lots of people? But of course, Tom and Helen never have to face the consequences of their actions.
And why is Adam suddenly panicking about every little thing Ed does? That seems peculiar too unless running Home Farm is now proving too much for him. Can't he manage without Brian?
Two things I am looking forward to are.. Ian returning with bad news from Bulgaria so the surrogacy SL ends and Jill's reaction when she hears that Rosie's middle name is Grace giving rise to more insane jealousy. Although why she is jealous of someone who died over 60 years ago having had a long and successful marriage subsequent to that is beyond me. And I also want to find out the true story of Tim who seems to be grooming Ed for some nefarious purpose.

Well, that was an anticlimax! Do we assume Freddie has learned nothing from his stint in stir? Or that there is a meltdown to come? And Tom and Nocasha (love it!) are going to slum it in the flat above the shop. How awful. Still, I'm delighted for Clarrie and I do hope they actually do get the house.
Agree something is going on with Tim. He has a yokel accent so he's obviously up to no good.

I have never liked the whinging Freddie and he sounded unchanged to me. I don't like Lily either, she sounds like a guest at a 1950s cocktail party!
Obviously Tom and Nocasha couldn't live in Penny Hassett, they are Archers after all. But the flat is hardly somewhere she can do all this business entertaining is it? Who lives in that cottage where we had Stab Night and then where Aneeesha lived? Isn't that free? That must be quite nice if Rob was prepared to live in it.
The other marvellous nickname on Mustardland is for Tim Oatey - Timotei! Love it.

Have to say I'm impressed with Ben for refusing to be a godparent because he isn't willing to make promises he can't keep. Though I do wonder if it's the precursor to one of Toby's dreadful friends stepping in. And I didn't mind him being the one to mention the elephant in the room either. Far too much keeping up appearances at the tea party! As for Freddie, oh, please, can't he commit some other misdemeanour and get banged up again?

I was very surprised at Ben making such a stand, quite out of character for an Archer. And yes, Toby has suggested the hitherto unheard of City friend, Ricardo as a godfather.
I am sick to death of Elizabeth referencing Freddie in every sentence. And he is going to be vile to Russ now. Well I have little time for Russ as a character (but like Rob, so well acted) but he seems to have no regard for Lily who has saved the day at LL after all, and that is all coming to His Ghastliness isn't it?
Helen do you read the blog The Ambridge Observer by Christine Michael? It comes out on Sundays and is very funny. It is now also known as The AmOb. (ambridgeobserver.blogspot.com)
