What is the deal with Helens new friend? do we know why she is in the unit - I mean what was her crime? Is she a con woman & grooming Helen because she comes from a relatively wealthy background?
also, anyone getting tired of the Fairbrothers? They just don't seem believable to me & are poorly acted.

I'm sure Kaz mentioned that it was her man's fault that she was in prison. I'm glad she's around because hopefully she will help Helen to come to terms with what has happened to her and encourage her to open up about Rob's abuse.
Fairbrothers? Yes, bored with them but I think they're here to stay. No doubt Rex will end up marrying Pip ( but not before she sleeps with Toby). And what is Toby's secret? The mysterious trips to Brighton and his need for cash?

Hey bro! I swear every time Toby says that. I think he is a woeful character, badly acted too. Rex is better, but rather boring!
I think Kaz is there for one reason only, to act as an underling to Helen.

I kind of get an ulterior motive vibe from Kat, as if she is a plant to win Helen's confidence. Maybe that's bad scripting, but I like some things to be hinted at, at least. The alternative would be like those cable shows, entertaining as they are, where a hugely sympathetic character is established, male or female, and then, a few episodes down the line, finds a quiet moment to make a mobile phone call and says cryptically, 'Yes... they don't suspect a thing. We can proceed with the plan...'
The Archers doesn't always get the balance right, but they keep us on our toes.

By the way, does anyone else have 'Waze' route navigator? A month or so back, I used it, and the female voice had been replaced with someone who sounded a lot like Toby. I half expected it to say, 'At the next roundabout, take the second exit, Bro...'

No, she is not "poor old Helen". She is vile Helen who bullied Hayley when John died and made Tom take the rap for her when she drunk-drove. I call it karma.

TABBARDS,!!!! what is this obsession with ruddy TABBARDS? Susan has been a would-be snob all her adult life. Why does she want to like an extra from Dinnerladies?

I am still fuming over Joe! How else can I wreck this house Oliver and Caroline were kind enough to lend us for six months rent-free. How dare they cut down their own tree? What an ungrateful old git he is!!!!

I know he is very elderly but the Grundys do have that downtrodden sense of entitlement. After all Caroline has done for them over the year.

Sooosan and Joe were real pieces of work in this episode, even for them (OK, maybe it wasn't such a great stretch for Sooosan).

Oh blimey - even Helen's brief is loopy and Helen really isn't doing HRself any favours. Why didn't Anna challenge the "erratic upbringing" comment?
Mr predictions:
Helen is going down for attempted murder
Rob will get custody of Henry (not sure if Rob will then move away & break off all contact or stay in Ambridge to taunt them)
Rob will also get Jack but bring him up as Gideon
In time, Rob will acquire a new girlfriend to be stepmother to his sons and the whole saga will start again but this time Rob will get his comeuppance and Helen will be partially vindicated (I say partially because she did stab Rob) and win back her sons by which time they will have been estranged for too long and life will be very difficult.

Wow Dee!! That IS a long term storyline and no mistake.
I quite like the name Gideon (whisper it!).
I cannot think where it is going to end.
I cannot abide any of them at the moment, Pat and Tony get right on my wick so every time something goes against them, I am quite pleased! It is so unfaaaaair, she would never hurt anyone!

Oh yes, I really rather like it when something goes wrong for Helen & her awful family. Where is Johnny in all this? Seems something of a trait in that branch of the Archer clan - being known by 2 names. Remember when Johnny was also known as Rich?
