This was the theme from The Main Chance Series 1-3 (Series 1 in B&W. Series 2 onwards in colour) I love this, it's so catchy, maybe a bit jaunty for a show about a solicitor, but works lovely.
...Then in the last series, series 4, they changed it to this. WTAF! It's horrible.

Was that change when after he got into a spot of bother with the legal profession, and he got struck off? And wasn't it when they moved it from Leeds to London. I always thought it lost its way, at the time, and they didn't know what to do with it.

In the last series he was struck off and couldn't work as a solicitor but it meant there wasn't much for him to do so they had him appeal and get got back into it, but focusing on corporate law. I think it might have been better to have him get his licence (?) back but due to the bad publicity and his sullied reputation he has to start off again at the bottom and doing more criminal stuff. I found the cases when they occasional did criminal cases like when Diane Coupland takes the yobs to court who blinded her or the postman who'd got caught stealing more interesting, or when there was some personal stuff, my favourite episode being when he takes the step-father of his kids to court and gains custody.
