I'm just catching up the first game and I can't believe that ITV, at stupid o'clock in the morning, have half an hour of fannying about. Just show the game!

I was surprised at the amount of handling errors by Scotland. In the first half, especially.

I am also unimpressed by the TV coverage. The first two games today both over-ran into the next time-slot. In the Italy/Namibia match there was nothing to indicate which was which - they both normally play in the same shade of blue. And the names of players at the bottom of the screen were almost unreadable, and yet the there was enough space to make the text twice as big. And why does de Klerk dye his eyebrows black?

Having just looked at the groups, England are in the Group of Death, aren't they? Scotland should get into the quarters but then they will get thumped by NZ.

Dear gods, ITV! On catchup I can ffd through all the nonsense but am forced to sit through the ad breaks. Now normally I can just mute the TV and do something else.
Today's game has 40 mins of nonsense with 5 ad breaks. FIVE! So that's 20 mins of adverts I've had to sit through before the game even starts.
Hope the BBC get the next one cos this coverage is rubbish!

"Kamaishi is one of the towns hardest-hit by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that devastated northeastern Japan. The stadium, the only purpose-built venue at the Rugby World Cup, was built on the site of a school destroyed by the waves and hosting the match was seen as a powerful sign of recovery. As Japan’s Crown Prince Akishino looked on, the crowd observed a moment’s silence to remember the more than 1,000 people killed in the tsunami, several children in the crowd removing their caps and bowing their heads in prayer."
The site of Fiji vs Uruguay. It was an interesting game.
This is not the game, but a video put up by World Rugby about Kamaishi and the Stadium.

I do think that Eddie Jones is an idiot for comparing the US rugby team to 15 Donald Trumps who had been training with marines. It is okay to think that a team is not good, but this sort of thing is unnecessary.

That Fiji game was very interesting! I have no idea what was going on with Fiji there.

That Fiji game was very interesting! I have no idea what was going on with Fiji there. All you can say is that they lost. It is very easy to underestimate Uruguay. They are the second best team in South America after Argentina and this is their fourth World Cup so they are beginning to get used to what they need to do. They have won games before in the World Cup. On a side note. Scotland are ranked 8th in the World, Japan are ranked 9th ... Scotland's next game is against Japan. Wonder if they'll turn up this time.

But that was not the Fiji team that almost beat Australia a couple of days ago. Weird.

I feel a bit sorry for Canada. The score is misleading. They have lots of skills, it's just the decision making under pressure that lets them down. I keep shouting 'NO! Don't do that!' at them.

I really don't see Scotland getting out of their group. They will have to seriously up their game, and whatever given the result against Ireland today, Japan look as though they could take them down. {SPOILER:Click to Show}Japan beat Ireland, 19 - 12.
Ireland were rubbish in the second half.
