I wonder if it’s because I hadn’t watched previously and hadn’t heard a lot of the conflicting clues and just concentrated on the voice.
You could well be right about Michael Ball. He might be disguising his voice a little to sound less polished than he usually does, but some of those notes were very MB.

The Duck sang Ava Maria in the sing off...I was well impressed.
I get highly irritated by the naff comments from the judges, but the costumes are incredible.

Still finding this fun: hard to guess who they are, and most of them are excellent singers. I did however, suss who this weeks exit would be. But not their name!

My sister was over and insisted we watch. The panel were awful and so far everyone has been pretty much a C/D list celeb yet they're shouting out names of top rated people. Definitely miming and there's a fair bit of voice sync. I would watch without the panel, but probably not for me.

Apparently top knotch people have appeared in this, in other countries. So some of the best singers on here could well be big names.

I mentioned upthread that the US version had Gladys Knight, Donny Osmond, rapper T-Pain, Joey Fatone (from NSYNC), Layota Jackson, Chris Daughtry, Seal and Patti LaBelle.

This is still intriguing: I expected to hate it, but you can't help being drawn in by it.

It appeared Jonathan Ross thought one of the singers was Natalie Cole...who died in 2015

I was a bit surprised that caused such a fuss. Celebrity panels aren’t generally picked for their encyclopaedic knowledge, anyway. It could have easily been edited out.

I had seriously decided not to watch this show, especially as it is followed by The Voice. However, the more I saw the ads, I realised it really was going to be a show with with a difference and I'm so glad I changed my mind. It's been great
