I think I've said before I'm not the biggest of detective show fans but with it being an hour, the era it's set and the ying and yang of the good and evil with the vicar makes it interesting.

Good! - and with it following on after The Durrells, that'll be my Sundays set up for a while. They're a bit bleak at the moment as I'm not into Line of Duty.

I finally saw a trailer for the new series, usually ITV are showing them a month before the show starts until you're so bored of seeing them You no longer want to watch the show. Looks like they've learnt...although I would be minded seeing this trailer early! 😶

Dark but good. All of them at the vicarage under the eye of the new boss too, that could put a spanner in the works.

Dark but good. All of them at the vicarage under the eye of the new boss too, that could put a spanner in the works. Yes, rather dark - that institution looked more like something from the 1850s than the 1950s! Both Sidney and Geordie were really struggling to keep themselves off the women of their desires. Sidney appears to be just about managing to not actually sleep with Amanda, but it looks like Geordie's affair with Margaret Ward is back on. Leonard could be heading for troubled times too. Despite his gay inclinations he appeared to quite like that Miss Franklin - and following the new Archdeacon's rather firm indication that he should find himself a wife, he seems to be making a play for her. I wonder how that will work out - we'll be seeing more of her, according to the imdb cast lists.

Really disappointed with Geordie, Sydney should really tell him how sad his daughter is. Leonard will probably do what most gay men did in those times and take a wife, sad for all really but who knows it may be a good outcome for both, many have married without the 'passion' of so called 'love' and been happy for years.

At the end it seemed someone was watching Geordie and Margaret through the glass door ... who was that?

It was the younger detective, I think he was talking earlier in the episode about taking his sergeants exams.
