Just back from seeing the new Tarzan film. I really enjoyed it. My only real criticism is that although set in the latter part of the 19th century, much of the dialogue was very late 20th/early 21st century. A good retelling of the tale and Lord Greystoke was delicious eye candy. Liked that Jane was not a helpless decoration. Would recommend to singletons (men and women), families with older children it's a 12A) and couples.

Yes, Jane wasn't just a helpless decoration....I liked her, Tarzan was based on me, the look anyway. And does Christoph Waltz, play any other character - just getting a bit same old with him now.

Shots busters last night. It was OK. I saw the 3D version which probably helped a lot. Think it would not been as good in 2D. Not great, not bad. No cinema next week as I have seen every film showing except for the one in Hindi

Suicide Squad - strangely, the hype to this film is better, all the trailers and cast interviews....the film is awful....one big mess.
Jared is a joke Will is, is really bad Cara had a too big a part, for her lack of film roles...did look good, as did Margot
Action, boring - Story, forgettable.

Star Treck Beyond what a load of rubbish it could have been so much better. Just a CGI bandg fest, totaly unbelievable plot and suposedly funny but cringing script.I think the problem is films of this ilk are aimed at the teenage audiences. Hope the new TV series Star Treck Discovery is more like the original.

Where are all the new, good sci-fi films? All seems to be the Marvel franchise , etc. Watched Aliens again tonight, 30 years old and still fantastic, plus have ordered Terminator 2. Also, no intelligent films aimed at an adult audience. A slight exception made for the directors, Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive), and Christopher Nolan (Inception), who at least made two interesting films so far.

Saw War Dogs yesterday - true story about arms dealing....and how two guys tried to sell dodgy bullets to the US Army - maybe the most boring film I have ever seen, highlight for me, was the wife of one of them, Ana de Armas 10/10' the film itself....2/10

I enjoye d Florence Foster Jenkins. Star Tek should be excellent, seen the trailer & the Star Fleet uniforms look quite old school. Went to see this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it ..it's one of those stories that if it wasn't true you wouldn't believe any of it could happen! Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant work well together. Florence on Youtube... And Meryl singing as Florence..
