I must admit I haven't watched any of it, but I reserve the right! We are adults and surely can separate a piece of fiction from whatever is happening in real life.

I agree but I don't think that is why it has been pulled. Along with BAFTA I don't think ITV want to be thought to be promoting the career of someone who has been accused in such a way. I do, however, worry about someone being tried and found guilty by the media - what has happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Men in the industry have been getting away with this behaviour for years. It is only now been called what it actually is - abuse. Because it is only now that women feel safe enough to come forward because they know they will be supported by other women and by some men who are just as disgusted at this behaviour. These sexual predators have been enabled and protected by those around them for a long time. Women would be warned about who to be wary of but nothing would be actually done to stop these men. Casting couch, anyone?
'Innocent until proven guilty' is a good thing but who will be doing the proving? A woman who is a runner on a TV show and is the lowest of low and quite often takes abuse from all and sundry? She is going to go to court to try and get a well-known director, producer and actor to stop putting his hand up her shirt? He's the boss, not going to happen.
The more of this stuff comes out the better, IMO. That's the only thing that will change the culture of TV and film making.

I think it was known that he was conducting naked auditions. Recruiting young girls straight out of drama school, standard audition screen tests etc get the part then the email requesting they attend a naked audition to see if they could cope doing naked sex scenes!! Other people were also in the room. Colleagues are saying nothing was filmed but he told at least one girl he had filmed her and had it on his computer and used it against her.
If you were a 'colleague' in one of those highly unethical auditions you'd be keeping your head down wouldn't you!! Studios are supposed to have strict regs around stuff like this, with special coordinators and lots of consent etc. These were young women who now say that knowing the industry today, they know this was wrong but had no clue and nobody to help them at the time.
It's like the woman from GOT, who says had she known she could have said no, she wouldn't have done those completely naked scenes. Even in a big show like that she said she was young and naive and they took advantage because she thought that she'd be sacked.

Well I really wanted to watch the finale to find out what happened. I'll have to look out for it on the ITV hub - I notice the other episodes are only available for 2 days, so I'll probably have till Sunday.
Whether Noel turns out to be guilty or not, I'm quite annoyed with The Guardian now for releasing their article when they did - they could have waited another day!

Why should they wait another day? Would you think that if he'd killed someone or something.
We have now had the usual statement from Clarke. "I have never done anything criminal but I now realise that some of my actions may have upset some people. I regret that and will now seek professional help to educate myself". I've paraphrased it because after all this time most of us could write the statement anyway.
I think perhaps sending unsolicited photos of your penis might be a criminal act, it is certainly abusive - the fact that this photo was sent has been corroborated and The Guardian legal team have seen the photo.
As always I think the regret mostly stems from being caught and I hope the police move swiftly to seize his computer etc because if he did film some of the things that are being claimed that would be criminal.

I think dick pics are now criminal. I'm sure there was legislation talked about a couple of years ago. But I can't remember if it actually made it into law.
ETA: It didn't. There was a review of the present law launched in 2019 but that was all I can find. They may be able to prosecute him under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 - voyuerism for the filming of the naked auditions but his lawyers are likely to argue that it wasn't a private act being filmed.
Ah, hang on. If they have an actual pic that can proved to have been sent by him, then they could get under the SOA - exposure clause.

So its OK to show on ITV hub but not ITV. If you have to make a stand at least be consistent. As for the Guardian they probably held on to the story and deliberately released it today to make the bigger splash.

Yeah...... cos that's the most important thing about this....... I guess ITV are trying to treat people like adults and give them the choice of whether to watch it or not. And this would have made a splash anyway as he's a famous actor/producer/director.

I'm sure you're right. At the end of the day, like it or not, selling their paper matters.

At the end of the day it's a piece of fiction. I think there are much more important issues here. If Clarke is guilty, how many have turned a blind eye? He worked for the BBC for years. It's like bloody groundhog day! This kind of abuse of power should have long ago had it's day, yet still it continues. It turns my stomach!

You should hear what he has to say about John Barrowman's behaviour. If I can find the clip I will post it.
