Gosh I edit my posts well after five minutes! But on other forums you can't, I know.
I use the new button to the left of each thread title. I know the other way is probably better, but this was new to me in Edieland and I just got used to it.
May I ask - what/where is the spoiler tag and how do you use it? Oh, I have just seen it at the end of the reply page tool bar. Is it just plain text or does it hide itself? Sorry to be slow on the uptake. I would just type Spoiler Alert.

When you want to hide something you click on the spoiler button and a popup box appears. Type in what you want to hide and click apply. You then get the word 'spoiler' which you click on to see the hidden text and click on again to hide. {Spoiler}Hello!

That's on my list to put back. Along with the scroll button. I've also just found a plugin that restricts anyone from editing their posts after 5 mins. A lot of forums use that one so I'll grab that as well. Anyone think of anything else while I'm doing this? Thanks for putting all the stuff back. Why would there be a restriction of editing after five minutes, though?

It's to stop people going back to old posts and changing what they said. I can make the time limit whatever we want. Five minutes is just the standard time.

Thank you.

It's fine if not, but I quite frequently go back and edit my posts if I notice I've made a typo. I'm a bit OCD over that. It gnaws away at me, thinking people will think I can't spell... (I absolutely hated the fact that the old BBC board had no edit facility)

Before anyone asks, and some have noticed,Lumix has left the forum, and appears to have removed some improvements put in over the past week or so. So no blue up-down button ,until we can find the way to restore it. There was a spoiler alert on the smiley box, that has gone as well. There maybe a few other things ,that l am not aware of. We seem to have lost the 'new posts' feature, which is annoying. The big blue up-down button, on the other hand, I found quite irritating and intrusive, so I'm glad it's gone. Swings and roundabouts...

Does DigitalSpy set it to half an hour?
Would that be OK for most people?
Edit, just seen it can go up to 24 hours, that would be plenty wouldn't it?

Could someone please test the Edit function on an old post? It doesn't work for me as I'm the Admin.

The personal smileys is an absolutely fantastic idea and I have already added four - however, on my tablet, I have yet to manage to highlight the text in order to use them. Is there any way to make more of a gap to stop me hitting either the bottom row of smiley images or the 'disable smileys' text? Well done to Lumix!! Edit.
