I enjoyed this second episode more, but I still wish they’d chosen to broadcast it on consecutive nights.
To my surprise, I found myself smiling over the sex scene - it was just sweet, the way they wryly acknowledged their own imperfections as they came together.

I thought it was sweet when he said, can I come over to you now when they were standing on opposite sides of the bed. And her apologising for not shaving her armpits in ages.
It was great.

I did stick with it and binged all four. The last two had no ads cos they haven't been broadcast yet. It turned into a very good drama.

The conclusion was very well done - particularly the scene on the cliff with PJ and Abigail.
Does PJ appear in Graham Norton’s other books? He’s a lovely character.

I thought so too, and a good piece of acting Still can’t connect him with the Smurf in Car Share though I think Graham’s other books are stand alone - but maybe he might like to write a sequel now?

Or his character in GoT! Shows what a good actor he is.

I read the book a long time ago (Norton is a brilliant author) and thoroughly enjoyed this. I would like to see another series with the central character.

Didn’t they change the end though? I thought there was an epilogue where Brid and her husband had split, she moved to Cork and got sober, and PJ visited her there. And Evelyn Ross was a much wilder character in this than in the book I thought.

I had the vague impression that PJ did get together with Brid at the end in the book, but it has been a couple or three years and I’m not sure now. I thought her husband left her.

If they plan to do a second series with an original story then Brid and PJ still have some way to go.

I would like to see another series featuring these characters. The ending was very well done. That would be up to Graham Norton I guess.

When I first saw this being trailed I thought I might like to read the book. Unfortunately there was a waiting list and I just got it yesterday having now watched the series, which I enjoyed. Started reading the book last night and read 5 chapters. I’m loving it! It’s much better than the tv series. This is the first of Graeme Nortons books I have read. He really is an excellent writer, going to check what other books of his my library has reserve them now!

Just finished reading the book and I really did enjoy it. I won’t say what happened in the end in case anyone else decides to read it , but it is different to the tv series. The book does seem to leave it open to a further book. Although I would have thought he would have written it by now as it was his first novel and he’s written several unrelated novels since.

A friend from knitting club is bringing me a couple of books tomorrow. The good thing about holding the club in the library!
