Hurray!
Esme was on Woman’s Hour this morning, I think she’s just published a book?

Enjoyed it, some good creations - and one or two a bit strange. Some interesting people.

Like it never went away!
I think Sarah Pascoe did a really good job. She's funny and supportive. And the sewists do seem to have bonded. I really liked Marni the vet. It will be interesting to see how long it takes 3 of the women to lose their Imposter Syndrome. 😀
I agreed with both of the judge's final decisions.

I just watched it, what a nice bunch they seem. Sarah Pascoe came over very well, better than in her debut. She seemed a lot more at home.

Yeah, it was the Xmas one, wasn't it? She seemed to be showing off a bit in that whereas she was more natural in this. Not so nervous, maybe?

"I agreed with both of the judge's final decisions."
I went for the African print dress as garment of the week. Do agree about what a nice bunch of people they seem. I think the overall standard of sewing gets better every series.

I think that's inevitable. Once people know what the programme expects from them the standard goes up, it's the same with bake off. And I did hear Patrick say that everyone had done very well to get here, so there must be some kind of quality test beforehand.

I would imagine so. There must be more and more people applying every year so a skills test would be necessary to filter out the novices and the 3-thumbed amongst them.

Yes and that's why they got a wrap dress in week one. That would never have happened in the first couple of seasons. Or maybe it did and I can't remember.

They have done a wrap dress but not in the first week.

I would love to make a pair of trainers but would be like the person (sorry, can't remember her name) who couldn't finish because I have arthritic hands which wouldn't be strong enough to attach the eyelets. I probably wouldn't be able to push the needle into the soles to attach the uppers either. That challenge was a bit unfair on the oldest contestant as most older people I know have weakened hands. Having said that, the person with only one arm did brilliantly.
I picked all three winning garments but not the person eliminated. That was a bit of a toss-up and I got it wrong.
