He carried the beacon part way round the stadium. Each baton carrier was supporting a different theme. He was highlighting that being LGBT+ is illegal in 35 commonwealth countries.

I worried a bit when the torch bearer was raised up by fellow athletes holding what looked like glass steps.

I missed it! I was grappling with my Amazon Firestick for ages and by the time that finished the athletes were coming in. I forgot to record it, but what I’ve heard on the radio has been generally favourable. Gymnastics today. I’m recording BBC1 but I bet it hops between channels like Wimbledon. I might leave it until tomorrow when hopefully they will have stuff on iPlayer in one place. Mind you they didn’t do that very well for the last lot of skating.

They said you can choose the events you want to watch, so hopefully you're able to get a full event.

I'm trying to watch the bowls. Some idiot decided that there should be lift music playing through the whole game. Every game. So there's 3 games at a time. So, at the moment, the players are speaking 4 different languages, there's 2 commentators, the crowd shouting out, and crappy music on top. Talk about auditory overload. That's me not watching any bowls.

That’s annoying, it’s one of the sports I was looking forward to watching, you don’t get the chance very often I know. I was looking forward to it as well as it's only in big multi sport competitions that I see it. But that was unbearable. |
