Watching the bowls again now - no music! Oh wow! They must have had a lot of complaints. Good!

I find the indoor cycling a very tense watch - the risk of crashes is so strong particularly when they 'peel off' up the side of the track. Men's marathon on at the moment (10am). I think there is bowling on the red button. Me and my big mouth. Nasty crash in the peleton with one English lad and one Australian brought down. Suspected broken collar bone for the Brit - I think he was unconscious initially. Felt so sorry for David Weir getting a puncture towards the end of the wheelchair marathon which he would have won easily. I wonder what the rules are regarding spare wheels? They obviously cannot carry one with them but could a support car not be close enough to help out?

Watching the gymnastics from this morning. It's the lowest ranked women so it's not very good. But the crowd is being so supportive! Huge applause when they get a difficult element right. And a lot of sympathy when they don't.

A little while ago I thought I wonder if there is any gymnastics on TV. Switched to BBC3 just as England were starting their rotation. Bliss!

Haven't seen that yet. Started watching the weight lifting whilst waiting for the gymnastics to finish.

I really enjoyed the competition; nice to see some different competitors. I thought the first three Canadian floor routines in particular were great. They reminded of the Dutch team who put more emphasis on artistry than tumbling. I agree about the crowd. Sometimes crowds can be annoying but this one seemed pretty knowledgeable and supportive of all. I haven’t got time to watch it all today but will catch the women and then the individual ones. I have the schedule on a piece of paper so I know when to start scouring the TV! Ditto for the diving.

I'm watching the men's gymnastics. Only a third of the way through at the moment but England in first and second.

The rugby 7s are brilliant - Fiji v New Zealand went right down to the wire.

There was another horrendous crash in the cycling. The rider with bike went over the crash barrier and landed in the crowd! I haven’t heard much about how people are doing afterwards. They cancelled the rest of the session but apparently Team England have said that he is OK, although it’s all relative isn’t it? I don’t think any spectators were seriously hurt, but there was at least one child in those seats. That is two serious crashes in one meeting which surely must be rare?

I'd like to think so marion but perhaps they need to rethink the area separating the crowd from the track and get some sort of heavy duty perspex or even some rails in place so bikes cannot spin off the track and into the seating areas.

That is two serious crashes in one meeting which surely must be rare? 2 spectators treated for injuries. No one should look like this when attending a sporting event... There's nothing remarkable or particularly wrong with the design of the velodrome. It's very typical. The standard of some of the riding, however, has left something to be desired.

Far too easy for one to go down and take out multiple others.
My cousins daughter, a doctor, is on duty at the games. Not sure if she is there today but if a small, smiling, capable person appears rolling bandages, it will be her! She is actually an anaesthetist so can knock out anyone who needs it...

I felt for James Hall in the Men's All Around but good to see Jake Jarman win
