What gets me is how the programme is largely frothy in the extreme (all the stuff between the two leads and other staff) and yet the bodies are completely gruesome. Even to someone who watches a lot of crime. The other week there was a Japanese cop over looking for his sister. I think all they found was her extremely gooey head. He was in the lab as they worked away on it. I would have vomited on the spot!

I know. It's a really strange mix of tones.
Although... I suppose in real life, they would chat and crack jokes and stuff in the midst of all the gore. But it is odd to watch.

Stalker, a cop show starring Dylan McDermott, starts on Tuesday July 26 at 10.00.
It only ran for one series, but I used to like him in The Practice.
From the title and the advert on TV, I am wondering if it is in the same neck of the woods as Criminal Minds, although as that has been going for years presumably Stalker is not as good.

I watched Stalker last night, quite enjoyed it. Looks as if both lead characters have got a 'past' that looks to be catching up to them. I'm a fan of Dylan McDermott anyway. Haven't heard of Maggie Q though.

I haven't caught up with it yet but am glad it was OK. Shame it only lasted one series then. Apparently the writer gave us The Following. I have only seen the first series of that (on Pick) but thought it was terrific, a shock every episode, and I do hope they show the rest.

Stalker.
I just watched it and thought it was great! As with The Following I actually shouted out a few times, including twice with the f-bomb. Hope it stays this good.

Childhood's End
This three part mini series about an allegedly well-intentioned alien invasion is being shown over three nights from Saturday 27 August, at 10.00. I looked it up on IMDB and it has a 7.0 rating so may be quite good. It clashes with loads of other stuff though!
PS I have just seen a trailer and it looks a bit like a cross between Under The Dome (minus the dome) and The Midwich Cuckoos. It is based on a book by Arthur C. CLarke.

And what is more it stars Barbie from Under The Dome! I only watched until about 11.00 and must catch the rest before tonight's episode.

I'm half-way through the second one and I have to say, it's rubbish. The characterisations are terrible. It's difficult to tell the normal people apart. There's only one black person and one Asian person on the planet. All the women are only there to look after the men. Their whole character revolves around the men. And having babies. The only women with professions are the religious nut who is a counsellor (one of the caring professions) and a scientist who does nothing but wear a white coat and ask the men questions so they can answer them. All the positions of power are taken by middle-aged white men. The only religion is Christianity. The only culture is American.
This is not sci-fi. It's religious propaganda. Surely this isn't what ACC wrote?

And oh look! The only black and Asian people on the planet are in a relationship with each other! Is that so they don't corrupt the nice white people?

I was very disappointed by Baby Jennifer. I thought she would be a red lizard, or at the very least have cloven hooves. I did not follow all that stuff when her mother was on the Ouija board swirling this marbles around.
Also, I wondered how Paretta (is that her Christian name?) managed to shoot Karellan as I assumed he would have some kind of force field to protect him, being the top dog in the whole world, nay universe. And how convenient that the miracle medicine to cure Barbie's cancer is equally effective on gunshot wounds!
I am saving up a read of the full synopsis of this book until afterwards. But I did spot that our hero is NOT a Missouri farmer but the Secretary General of the UN.
