This certainly looked like a lot of money spent! - and impressively so. Not sure Claire Foy was entirely convincing as the young Queen, nor Matt Smith as Prince Philip, and how many times did they have to show her ill father smoking? (bit heavy-handed). Princess Margaret looks promising. Good to see Eileen Atkins and other famous faces. This is going to be full of anachronisms, I suspect (would the young royal parents really argue about childcare, putting pressure on "mummy", when the children will all be brought up by nannies?)

You sure can see where they have spent the money [watching free with Radio Times netflix promotion pin code] - watched the first two last night, and I'm hooked - a good cast, which I wasn't sure would work, but it does - Claire and Matt are good, but the supporting cast, even better, Jared Harris amazing - Locations stunning too - You just wonder sometimes....would they really say that, still gripping stuff, even if you do know most what happened.....but the Mice in Buck House kitchen - I feel a Pixar film in the future. Two episodes in for me 9/10

I feel like I want to watch the next episode tonight, which is always a good sign. One thing that stuck in my mind was, the operating theatre set up inside the Palace! - and the mice were an interesting detail.

Just watched episode two, impressive indeed! - a real sense of the time and place, the scale and the impact of events, delivered with some gravitas. It looks beautiful, and the acting is top notch (have revised my view of the two main leads). Would love to know what the Queen thinks, if she watches it (that, we probably will never know).

Five episodes in now, wow......and I bet when the award season starts, it'll win every one it is up for, there is nothing out there, that comes close. Epic I tell you.

Epic to the end.....Loved every minute of it. Claire Foy was majestic - Matt Smith got it just right - Jared Harris amazing - Vanessa Kirby [Margaret] a tease - John Lithgow epic, he burnt the painting - Victoria Hamilton [QM] majestic2, what a deal on the Castle of Mey - Ed and Mrs S were menacing - and everyone needs a Tommy......the Look, the Scale - the Money was on the Screen. Job done, I want more............oh yeah, the tourist board [Visitbritain] must be very pleased.

It looks beautiful, and the acting is top notch (have revised my view of the two main leads). Would love to know what the Queen thinks, if she watches it (that, we probably will never know). Some liberties were taken with the facts. I don't know if they would annoy her, though. They might hurt, because they relate to her relationship with her sister: Did the Queen stop Princess Margaret marrying Peter Townsend? It seems that the answer was no, and there was no excuse for not knowing. It has been public knowledge since 2004. What is reported in this article does not jibe with the facts as stated in the BBC article: A 2009 article in the Telegraph suggests that her decision not to marry Group Captain Townsend was her own: Princess Margaret: recently unearthed letter sheds new light on decision not to marryWhat I find odd is that, even now, there are articles in which it is suggested that what is seen in "The Crown" are historical fact. Three episodes into season two...and as good as the first - a war, a scandle and some penguins.

It’s a Netflix thing, they just about always put out the whole series in one go, of most dramas they make.
