No, I think that's it but who knows what the future holds, he seems to be getting pretty friendly with Honey .

I was trying to remember who Steve Elliott was without googling . Was he the tall < young > , black guy , always wore a leather jacket ? Used to cook for Ian in that burger van thing ? That's the one.

According to ITV's Soap Queen, (an impartial lady paid to talk about Soaps who strangely mentions EE less than she used to when she wrote for it) EastEnders have tried many times over the years to lure Michelle Fowler back but with no success. I wonder that they haven't recast her. They recast Martin a few times, and Peter and Lucy and Lauren. And Johnny. And Sam, then back again. But Michelle seems immune. I have just spotted her name as Director on the credits for this week's Musketeers.

I knew that Sue Tully had directed a couple of EastEnders episodes , but I thought that was just because of the previous connection , but it looks like she's done lots of stuff www.imdb.com/name/nm0876448/

I knew she had done more than EE, but not as much as that. Well done to her!

I think Michelle could be recast. She has been gone for longer than quite a few viewers have probably been alive, and she was never iconic in the way (eg) Dot or Angie and Den and the Mitchells were. Sue Tully was no great shakes as an actress so can happily be replaced in that respect and it is utterly implausible that she has never returned to see her brother, niece and cousin - and now aunt.

I think they've definitely given up asking her to come back and last I read DTC and now SO'C are seriously considering a re-cast . As you say , Leslie , it seems completely daft that she would never return - not as if she's been completely off the radar and never had a mentioned . She's also had plenty of visitors heading her way - like people used to disappear to "visit Aunt Sal" . Aunt Sal was mythical for a very long time .

The ideal time would've been when Den turned up alive and Vickie lived in the Square. Michelle and Den meeting as adults (and parents) on equal footing could've been interesting.
Or when Pauline died.

Yes, I've often wondered why they haven't yet brought back a new-head Michelle.

Yes, I've often wondered why they haven't yet brought back a new-head Michelle. Because she wasn't a very interesting character?

A lot of the early characters weren't that interesting because they were just normal people! These days everyone has to have a dark secret / flawed personality / neverending stream of unfortunate events happen to them.

Normal-ish people with normal-ish story lines that were far more memorable (to me anyway) than more recent ones that I have to google when people mention them.

Well. Although it was guessed by practically everyone, what an opportunity missed. I was rather hoping that NuBen would be killed by.... or perhaps hurl himself onto a photo frame held by.... 'Ev's long lost identical twin sister, Bev. No jail time and she would find her niche back in the Square consoling Shirley over Buster's fling with Kaff and they would move in together when Buster gets chucked out.
And Whitney, please, stop simpering!!!!!
plus why was Birdie altering Les's jacket for Paul, then testing its fit by trying it on LES? Who as he himself said, is a completely different size. Come on, do they not think we can sew or don't watch TGBSB?

We can now consider it confirmed that the Crayon Crew and the writers of Corrie are on the same chapter of the Dummy's Guide to Writing a Soap. On Friday, we had Kylie stabbed to death in Corrie, leaving a devastated David, and tonight we have what looks like Paul apparently being murdered, probably by stabbing, leaving a devastated Gran and Grandad and Ben. I think they just wrote one script, and changed the names as necessary.
Such originality is obviously worth a joint win in the next Soap Awards.
PS: Corrie did it a hundred times better!

So who do we think did for Paul then? Was it NuBen? And where has he got to? And will he go back into the closet now? Quick laser job on the tattoo.....
