....... and the prize for LeeAnne's baby's dad goes to sootycat! Pick up your Harrods voucher at the door. What a stupid SL the one with Steve being Leanne's baby's father. Totally ridiculous. The words scraping the barrel spring to mind. I can't remember them having any scenes together apart from being different side of the bar.

I used to watch "Coronation Street" and it was a favourite with both my sisters until the violence and the "Hayley "cancer story . None of the three of us can bear to watch it any more. We have seen both our father and step mother reduced to skeletons by cancer and we thought that the real life sufferes were insulted by the portrayal of a cancer victim . I hate bloodshed and bullies but the presence of both in soaps in general have led me to give all the soaps a wide berth now. They seem to be far too sensationalist and jumping on the bandwagon . I enjoyed the fun and the humour of the old days of "The Street" -no more I have to say I was in two minds whether to watch this storyline, but I did... it was handled beautifully all the way through...well done to all concerned.

I am assuming something has happened between Eccles and Barry? That will be an interesting mix, Cockerpoo + Border Terrier. I always liked Peter, will be pleased to see him back.

I want to see Todd sort out the odious Phelan - who must surely get his comeuppance soon (I hope!). Has to happen just so Eileen has to apologise to all and sundry for not believing he was a baddie.

I hope so too. Todd has a crafty brain and I live in hope he will be the one to bring about Phelans downfall Sean was having one he'll of a pity party wasn't he.

Sean was complaining he'll never have anyone in his life. What does he expect? He's self-centred, clingy, camp, demanding, expects his partner to drop everything to do what he wants even if interferes with that person's job, and as for turning up to see Billy while he was in the middle of conducting a funeral ......... And then he, as the lodger, expected Eileen to choose him over her own son! Then assuming Eva was in the Rover to console him!!!!! And the acting was atrocious.
And how come Todd was the only one to see that Phelan was deliberately stirring things to get Sean out so he can try to isolate Eileen and fleece her for all he can? Todd must outwit him in the end.

I could never stand Sean when I watched it .. and from what I have read and seen regarding Antony Cotton I'm not too keen on him either

No. For most of the soaps filming is anything from 3 to 6 weeks ahead of screening. I gather that Eastenders sometimes insert a brief mention of something current in an episode, but the others don't.

Mrs.Owl was telling me that she had read somewhere about the actor,Connor McItyre, who plays Phelan hates him and says he must get his come uppence.I think I read he has a fine art degree taken recently, Conner, not Phelan.

Connor is a good actor in the Phelan part. An actor friend of mine said it's more difficult to be a baddie than a goodie, as it's so easy to slip over into cariacature. He does quiet menace very well. Not OTT.
One of my favourite (if unusual) baddies was Richard Gere playing a crooked cop. He was really scary. Can't remember the name of the film, but one of his best for me.
