In such an uncertain profession as acting, you'd think those who manage to get a regular spot on a soap would guard it carefully, but it's easy to recall many who have lost it through being totally idiotic. Most who are this silly are never heard of again.

I have never quite worked out the age gap between the grandparents and grandchildren. They must have been very young when they started their families.

I don't really like where Corrie is going just now. We have Phelan & Vinnie's scam, which will probably end up in violence of some sort, and now Caz turning into Single White Female/stalker who will inevitably wreak harm. Then there's David wanting to turn into some sort of Death Wish avenger on Kylie's killer. And let's not forget the bullying of schoolgirls and the death of a beloved pet.
Corrie seems to be turning into a Northern Power House version of the crime and murder ridden EastEnders.

All of the soaps have become death, revenge and murder obssessed ... I used to watch all of them but now watch none and it's marvellous .. it frees up so much time to do/watch other things |

I am sad to hear about the wonderful Jean Alexander's death. I have her autograph and I will treasure it. "Coronation Street " was fun when she acted with Bernard Youens, it is not fun any more. I have not watched it for years now. I used to look forward to the laughs. I loved Mavis and Derek.

They all want to outdo each other with more sensational plots. I think the qualty has gone down because they are on practically every night now instead of just twice a week. Mr Crafty still watches Coriie though. |

Jean Alexander's death reminds me just how good it used to be - driven by characters with lives not driven by murder, violence and revenge. Sorry, Corrie - you have really lost your way. It's all how can we outdo EE in violence, unlikely story lines, young people who are totally unsympatico. Can't anyone write good stories about lives we can recognize any more? If such people are left, please put them into the Soaps. What we have just now is like something out of the south side of Chicago. You see something in Major Crimes one night, and think to yourself ..... oh that's happening in Corrie or Eastenders just now.

Soaps used to be about real people in real situations .. now they are about unrealistic people in totally unrealistic plots
