Trouble with all soap these days they are plot driven and not character driven

I have zero sympathy for Eileen. Michael told her Phelan was dodgy, Anna told her, Gary told her, even Todd told her. There people who she's known a lot longer are all saying the same thing yet she's happy to think everything is ok. Eileen could always small a wrong 'un, but is blind where Helen is concerned. And what was all that about Peter Andre?I thought I was watching Neighbours for a minute!

I thought the scenes of Michael's death were quite horrible. To show someone stand by and watch a person die were horrific IMO, and this has no place in an early evening soap. Corrie is going the same way as Eastenders - s*d the characters, let's have lots of murders and crimes and nastiness, and nobody has anything nice happening in their life. A great pity.

I am also fed up of TPTB having to give out warnings before the soaps these days. At that time of night there shouldn't be that sort of content on.
Gone are the days when you had Rita and Mavis rabbiting on in the Kabin about nothing in particular, and the viewers being hooked on their every word.

Nasty Pat Phelan must get caught out soon.
Toyah is back, everyone seemed to know her, even those who had never met her.
We await the return of Rosie Webster.

I hope so because he is putting me off watching Corrie I would be more than happy for them to fish his lifeless body out of the canal

Peter Barlow and Toyah Battersby ? Just so wrong ! He's a sexy womaniser and she's ..... just .... not one bit sexy is she? Glad Mary didn't go, love her character. Yes. It's time Phelan got his come uppance and Andy grew a pair. Waiting to see the (complicated) affairs of the nicker factory management unfold .... Jenny needs to wind it in else she will frighten off Johnny....( not that I'm addicted of course ) 😜

Oh for Heaven's sake, Corrie! Are you trying to out-disaster Eastenders? On tonight's episode, we had Michelle and all who love her in bits because of losing the baby. We had Dev in bits because of the bailiffs taking the gym equipment. We had Phelen wreaking death and destruction. We had more brother and sister agro and falling out. We had Peter in bits because he had to give up on snatching the factory. Anyone else think it's a bit OTT on the gloom and doom? What happened to the old Corrie, which had at least a few optimistic storylines running through an episode, and a smattering of humour?

I wasn't as moved as when EE did the storyline with Kush and Shanab it was single and heartbreaking. I've never found Steve that great an actor and his constant face pulling distracts from most serious stories and we haven't even got round to Liz yet.

I agree Corrie is trying to be way too unrealistic and sensationalist this year with the current storylines ..... needs reigning in otherwise it will become totally unwatchable like EE which would be a shame.

Having gone through a stillbirth many years ago, I thought both Kym and Simon did a brilliant job. I don't know how Kym could relive what happened to her with her son Archie, but she did and made a fantastic job of it.
It's also created quite a debate on DS on that hospital's policy of not intervening if the birth is before 24 weeks and if there should be a change in the NHS policy of classing it as a miscarriage before 24 weeks and therefore not issuing birth and death certificates, and a stillbirth after that when certificates are issued and therefore only then recognised as a child.
Both miscarriages and stillbirths are more common than you'd imagine.

What a terrible sad episode, made all the more poignant by realising both actors had gone through this in real life. Well done to Kym and Simon for agreeing to do this SL.
On a lighter note, Gemma daft as ever. Anyone see a Gemma/Chesney and a Daniel/Sinead relationship starting.
