It's the first time I've seen the new DS and I don't like him. He's a bit of a cardboard cut-out.

Neil Dudgeon managed to demonstrate it is possible for a man not to look good in Georgian dress. Nick Hendrix (Winter) is obviously more popular with the costume department - although wearing boots to a dance! I can just imagine Miss Bingley's smirk... Last time I saw Abigail Cruttenden in an Empire-line dress she was cuckolding Sean Bean while trying to have him murdered! Not a particularly noteworthy episode, though raised somewhat by some classy cast members. I suppose the people standing there waiting to be murdered is meant to be them frozen in terror.

A not particularly good episode, I thought, despite the presence of Simon Callow. It all felt a bit... recycled. And Winters's voice was distracting me; I've only just noticed, but I suppose it's been the same all the time: it sounds like he's trying to hide a very upper-class accent but it keeps peeping through!

A couple or more of them had been in MM before, and I kept remembering the last episodes they had been in, which was somewhat distracting

Winters doesn’t have much of a character does he? He seemed to sleepwalk his way through it.

Is season 20 being shown in the UK yet? I gather six episodes have been finished but will be broadcast overseas before UK broadcast.

My favourite dispatch was the one with the guy pegged out on his lawn while a trebuchet flung bottles of very expensive wine at him. It takes some twisted genius to come up with that!

And today's has Neil Dudgeon as a suspect! Which is really weird as he's now Barnaby.

For the last few Sundays I've been watching the ones with DS Winters, on ITV3. Didn't watch it when it first aired on ITV.
Imagine my delight when Jones turned up in tonight's episode.
