Yes, six in both 18 and 19.

Ah right! So they are making less than half the episodes per series that they used to.

I think there seem more because there are so many series! Using my list off the internet there are... Pilot 1/4 episodes 2/4 3/4 4/5 5/5 6/5 7/7 8/8 9/8 10/8 11/7 12/7 13/8 14/8 15/6 16/5 17/4 18/6 19/6 20 will have 6.
Haven't they at times made a lot of episodes together and then aired them as two separate series?

It's ITV numbering them oddly then. The other day they showed the 15th episode of S8 the day after the 5th episode.

Thanks Marion for that list, didn't realise there had been so many.! I haven't watched any for ages but do like MM, sometimes see it on one of these extra channels but don't want to settle to watch or record it in case I've seen it! I've often wondered why folk buy box sets, maybe I should try that! However I couldn't choose one guaranteed to be new to me so easily give up !

Doing my usual Midsomer-fest over the weekend, and it began to sink in yesterday how many familiar (guest star) faces we have lost. Even more so today, as I'm currently watching one with Rog (Sam Kelly) from POV.

The twentieth series of Midsomer Murders will premiere on ITV on Sunday March 10th at 8pm.
Joining the cast is Annette Badland as Dr Fleur Perkins, who will assist Barnaby and Winter in their pursuit of justice.
In the opening episode, titled The Ghost Of Causton Abbey, Causton is buzzing at the opening of a new brewery on the site of a famously cursed Abbey. But excitement turns to fear when a man is found boiled to death in one of the vats. DCI Barnaby and DS Winter are puzzled; could this really be about beer?
Wait for it...
Only the first two episodes of series twenty will be airing in March, with the remaining four following at a later date.

Annoying, innit?

The look on John Barnaby's face in his first scene with the new pathologist was priceless!

I love her! I hope she sticks around. 'I shall have to consult an expert. And possibly a cook book.'

Still catching up with the old ones - trying to view in order on ITV Hub but also making sure I don't miss any timed out ones (ie they only keep for 30 days) so sometimes have to skip ahead. Bit confused as I watched one last night where Jones was promoted to sergeant, but tonight he was still called constable - this is in the correct order of episodes as listed on the Hub.

Anyone know the filming location of tonight’s episode? Or rather where the “Causton Abbey ruins” were?
