Another recording fail for The Wall last night on series link. I shall change it to a manual record next week and catch it on All4 tonight.

The Wall
I watched it to the end, but I have to admit that it left me behind some time ago. I never really did get my head round who all the characters were and how they related to each other.
Looking forward to the return of Astrid in the time slot this Friday.

I agree there were too many characters in The Wall whose relationships were not clearly written. Despite that (not inconsiderable) flaw, I still quite liked it. I have to say I was stunned by the French accent in that region. I couldn’t really understand a word they said, and I usually do understand a bit on French shows. It was an unusual setting for a show though, and some amazing photography.

Astrid.
I'm really enjoying the second series, which is slightly more 'jokey' than I remember the first series being. In the second episode I can just imagine the complicated and precise rules of Japanese etiquette would be right up Astrid's street. She rattles it off to Raphaelle, who hasn't a prayer of taking it all in so commits several faux pas by such things as bowing at the wrong angle. Astrid remonstrates with her, telling her at one point "You are not an empress"! Raphaelle has to take a back seat a lot and let Astrid make the running, even to the extent of conducting an interview on her own. Good episode.

Astrid.
I thoroughly enjoyed S2 - a super series. As RT says, it subtly gives a better insight into the world of neuro-atypicals than any documentary.
The ending of the finale apparently contained bad news for future co-operation between Astrid & Raphaelle, but I don't believe it for one moment! - 2 further series have already been made.

I agree, this is a smashing series. I had read there were to be two more series so I hope that the basic premise remains unchanged.
I love her dates in the park with Mr Tanaka, just sitting on that bench, 😀.

Yes!
Their developing relationship was brilliantly handled I thought, through what was basically a series of snapshots. The first inkling we got that she was attracted to him was when she dropped into a conversation with Raphaelle that he "smelled very good". But then when he first asked her out, and she couldn't grasp why anyone would want to talk to her about anything other than her job or her shopping, I wondered if he realised what hard work she was going to be. The first time we saw them on the park bench they were sitting at opposite ends not saying anything, until Astrid abruptly terminated the meeting for another appointment. The next time on the bench however they were sitting closer and talking, so they were obviously getting on in leaps and bounds! On a later occasion she had to suddenly leave his company because she was all a-flutter inside and didn't understand why - it was up to Raphaelle to offer the (to us, obvious) explanation...

Disturbing Disappearances.
I think that’s the title, haven’t bothered to move and check in RT.
I haven’t minded the actual stories in this so far, but my goodness, the main actress is dreadful imo. Apart from looking a complete mess she is just so unpleasant. And if she had screamed at me as she did in episode 2 at Perez (almost unhinged I thought), then HR would have known about it. Talk about creating a hostile work environment!

Disturbing Disappearances.
I agree, I found her behaviour in episode 2 completely OTT, and in my view reveals a state of mind which ought to render her quite unsuitable for the job she's doing. Do real detectives behave like that? There seems to be a trend at the moment for portraying them a bit unhinged with anger management issues - we're getting it in Irvine Welsh's Crime on ITV (though the lead in that seems to have calmed down a bit in the latest episode).

Disturbing Disappearances.
Well I’ve barely started episode 3 but it seems to have had a complete change of cast and location. What’s going on?

Yes, It seems to have become an "anthology" series with a change of characters each time. Next week's looks to have another new set. They only seem to have made about 1 episode per year. Imdb original title is "Disparition inquiétante".
Finished ep.3 now and thought it was actually quite good.

I enjoyed it too. And I liked the lead a lot more than the original. I think it may be set in the same town as when I continued watching I thought it looked like the same open plan police station. When she said she was going to move to Bordeaux I for some reason thought she was living nearby and not in Alsace.

From imdb, the first 3 episodes were filmed in/near Strasbourg. However it looks like it's about to jump, because next week's was filmed in Dunkirk, and episode 5 (if we're going to get that) in Lyon.
