Interesting Miranda... when I was a lad, and wore Y Fronts, I didn't notice a door in them...

The only kind that have a door, is the kind that has a back flap.

I remember seeing them in "The Broons"; Grandpa Broon would occasionally be seen walking around the house in his underwear with such a flap.

Second episode tonight was good. Menacing scenes in prison.
The actress playing Tennison spends too much time staring into space. I dare say the director wants us to see her beautiful face but it jars with me as there is no expressiveness.
Love the music!

I still can't see past her looking like Sinead from Corrie. I keep expecting her to have a northern accent and starting saying "Chesneyyyyyy".
How good was Alum Armstrong? Crickey! When he attacked that guy with a spoon. He's so good, he's got such an expressive face that can play anything from menacing villian to kindly grandfather and make them both so believable.

Alun Armstrong is superb, I was wondering how old he was because he seems to have been around forever He is in fact 70 and still going strong.
I had forgotten how dreadful the 1970's were for fashion!!

I agree, Alun Armstrong is excellent. Jessica Gunning as WPC Morgan - Tennison's uniformed colleague - is good as well. For me, those two stand out from the rest of the cast.

I am really enjoying this. I wasn't too sure when Lynda La Plante stepped back from it, but it works well for me.

Yes the other WPC is very good I hope nothing happens to her. Agree with other that Tennison looks a little spacey at times as if the director needed the shot but there were no lines so she just had to look at nothing, but that is not entirely here fault and he can't have her chipping in on every conversation the men wouldn't have tolerated it. There's enough tension in this to keep things moving along.

Lynda la Plante stepped back because they made Tennison into an alcoholic, which was not her intention. This series is just ok, but no wpc in 1973 would have worn so much eye make up and false eye lashes to work. Having trouble identifying all the bad lads, they all look the same! And it took me one and a half episodes to realise that "Brian"/Clifford was IN prison not visiting! Is it me?

And most of the police officers look very young despite their moustaches. All not brilliant actors. Bradfield hates smoking! And is far too young.

Enjoying it but did they really say things like "You beauty!" in those days? I agree about Alun Armstrong, a superb actor.
